The Christian religion does teach tolerance and acceptance. The problem is the followers don't practice it.

If I believe a behavior is wrong and/or sinful that doesn't mean I hate the people who do that behavior. For example I believe it's wrong to drink coffee or shop on Sundays. That certainly doesn't mean I hate people who drink coffee or shop on Sundays.

Some people insist that their behavior is 'who they are' rather than 'what they do'. As such they sometimes insist that opposition to that behavior is intolerance for or even hatred towards them as a person.

Many people try to manipulate others into accepting their behavior by twisting the issue to make it look like opposing the behavior is a hate crime. They compare it to racism or sexism to try to demonize people who oppose the behavior.

The hatred and intolerance that many perceive from Christians or Christianity is often nothing more than mere opposition to a behavior they feel is wrong. Often people go out of there way to look hated or victimized to stir up sympathy for their cause.

Obviously there are some Christians who are hateful and/or intolerant, but they are the exception not the rule and they are not following their own religion.

Acceptance and tolerance... so long as it's Christian. If not then hatred. It's the way it's been for a VERY long time.

No, do no longer teach your new child to hate. whilst they're sufficiently old teach them approximately religions and tutor them the information. Ask them what they think of is physically powerful. they're going to come to the ideal end. eg Me: maximum folk fall in love with human beings of the choice intercourse yet some fall in love with human beings of the comparable intercourse. basically human beings of the choice intercourse are allowed to get married. My 5 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous: it rather is not trouble-free! Me: some human beings have faith a god made the international. this could be a huge effective being who's acquainted with each and every thing and can do each and every thing and lives constantly and can examine our minds. My 7 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous: no longer rather? no longer grown ups? Grown united statesdon't think that? you're basically being stupid! plenty greater useful to tell them how issues are and inspire them to think of if its helpful or achieveable. :)

Jesus taught love, tolerance, caring for and about the poor and oppressed. Some christians preach just the opposite of what Jesus stood for and do it in his name. While others preach the truth of Jesus while tolerating those giving Jesus a bad name. They are equally guilty of perverting the teachings of Jesus as long as they allow others to sully his name and do nothing to stop it.

There are sins of commission and sins of omission.

Jesus said to love one another and not to judge.

True Christians - followers of Christ - try to practice these principles.

Christians who judge others, express disdain or hatred for certain groups, and are unable or unwilling practice forgiveness are not true followers of Jesus Christ, but followers of Biblical Dogma.

I think that its teachings can be used as fuel for intolerance and hatred by some people. *Some* use it as a means of justifying their own fears of other races and those with gender differences, differing lifestyles.

However, it cannot really teach tolerance because of its own nature - believe as it says or you suffer eternal damnation.
