*U dont need a public consensus for such a private & personal thing as chosing a religion !!!!
U have to decide for yrself .....& maybe the diff. views expressed by so many of them, could just be a guiding line !!!!!
& if u r still confused, then its best to strive to be a good human being first .... religion or no religion !!!!

There are so many religions because Satan, the god of this world, has deliberately created confusion in religion. I recall a contest once at a department store in my area where there was a crystal bowl filled with 1 carat "diamonds" Only 1 was a real diamond however. All others were CZs. Whenever you made a purchase over a certain amount you could pick one from the bowl. I thought that I could spot a real diamond, but in that crystal bowl, a near-perfect diamond looked the same as the CZs. This is what Satan did with Christianity after the first century.

First, know that the Bible does not teach a doctrine of hellfire.
Second, if fear of such is your only motivation, then would you honestly say that your "belief" is real?
If you truly want to serve God, it should be motivated by love. True worship is built on a foundation of love. Love for God, love for ones fellow humans, love for truth. A humble person who is willing to learn from sources that he has perhaps dismissed as unworthy in the past (for example the Bible), who is honest at heart and hungry for accurate knowledge and wisdom will be able to find God because "he is not far off from each one of us" (Acts 17:27)

The only religion I would choose, if I have to, would be Buddhism. Its one of the only religions which is open minded and doesn't have any rules like 'I'll throw you in hell for not believing in me!', except for that beef is not advisable to be taken and should not be taken at a place of holiness relating to Buddhism.

As far as I can see, many, not all, religions other than Buddhism, is narrow minded and is the propaganda machine of religious leaders. Consolidation of power by manipulation. Such a sad thing. So the best solution of this is not to be religious at all!

P.S.
What is wrong with that muslim ***** who goes all around flaunting her muslim pride? Mad *****.

Don't listen to anyone here. It's a waste of time. Go out in the world and talk to everyone. Go to many different churches of different religions. I myself am a Christian and that's the only thing I'll tell you about myself. Go and find which religion touches your heart and than chose the option that makes most sense. God will guide you through your life. Remember that there is someone who loves you more than you love yourself. I think that at least we all ought to find why.

Albert,
You can't choose a religion based on what people say.
You must choose it based on truth.
There are so many people to tell you they have found the truth.
Who can you believe?
Why not try something different than posting on Yahoo?
Make a test -
Talk to God as if he were real. Ask God to reveal himself to you.
Tell him that if he will, your part of the deal is that you will serve him forever.
The important part is that if you do this, you keep your part of the deal.
If God is big enough to create the world and all that it is in it,
Then he is big enough to reveal himself to the honest seeker.
If not he is not big enough to serve.
"You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

Well then choose none of the above (which would be atheism). If people can't agree on something of such importance, its likely that none of them are actually seeing the whole picture here.

Better to be skeptical and force others to prove their religion is true (good luck with that) then to just pick the most convenient answer at time. When there is no evidence one way or another, its pretty easy for people to disagree on the subject.

There is only one true faith, it isn't a religion but a relationship with God, it is the only one where God give the free gife of eterna life and all you have to do is accept God into your life. False religions make you think that you have to do something to get to heaven but with Christianity it is simple, God does not want to complicate things and that is why he sent his son.

I just read your original question, and it sounds like you are trying to choose the correct faith for you based on fear - to get out of burning in hell.

Fear is never a good reason to make any kind of decision, much less a major one.

You should choose a faith that speaks to your heart. They all come from the same divine source. They just have different ways of expressing their beliefs and worshipping God.

The bottom line is that you need to spend some time reading about them and deciding which one feels "right" to you.

The answer to your present question is available in the Indian philosophy.Pl look around .You are able to ''see'' many many things. In school days you might have been taught about living and nonliving things. Each one is different from the other. It may be human beings and millions of sentient things ,next you may find non-living things.. each one is different from one another. Are you not seeing a lot of ''difference'' in each and everything.
Each ones thinking is different from one another .No creation is alike .To identify a thing ,difference is a must and difference is beautiful and it is natural.
Since we are all basically different to each another, the out put is also different.Enjoy the different answers and choose the one which suits to your liking.
Pl. be happy to note that there may be difference in thought and action among men but the unifying force is the LORD, like a thread to which many pearls are attached and Owen unifying all of them.

Have you tried learning about the religions that interest you? Then you won't have to worry about the opinions of others and can decide on your own what to believe.

What you believe in (your personal truth) is not always the same as everyone else's. You have to discover which religion feels most real to you.

Good luck!
