(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
(Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.
A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It makes me laugh when people say that Jehovah's Witnesses change the Bible 'to fit their own needs'. If that was true, would they not twist scriptures like Matthew 24:14, 28:19, 20 so that they could excuse themselves from their preaching work? Who needs apathy and indifference?
Would they not twist scriptures to allow themselves to celebrate Christmas?
Jehovah's Witnesses stick to the Bible, even though it is not always convenient for them to do so.
Their preaching is not about converting, it is about obeying Christ's command to 'make disciples' and teaching people the things that he has commanded.
Another question would be: If Jehovah's Witnesses have it all wrong, why is the true religion so silent?

Then why exactly are you here if not for pushing your non-belief?
Don't misunderstand, you're most welcome here but atheists trying to say that they do not want to replace Christian beliefs with atheistic ones somehow escapes me. If you are not interested in what others believe and you are not pushing your own beliefs then why are you here in the first place? Accept it we are all the same. We want everyone to see the way we see things because OUR point of view is the best. Agreed?

How many people would stand silently by and watch a child walk to the edge of a cliff and step over the edge to certain death? If we have any heart at all we would do everything in our power to stop that tragedy. Christians who truly believe in the Word of God will be doing what they can to help a lost and dieing world come to salvation. This doesn't mean shoving the Bible down the throats of those not willing to listen, that only drives them further away. It means listening to God and doing what He calls us to do.
But it's not just salvation from Hell that motivates us in spreading God's Word....(even though that would be enough). Can you imagine knowing the greatest love and not sharing it? If your heart is full of God's love, it can't help but come out. And you can't help but wanting for everyone to know such love and fulfilment. How many people are searching for hope? How many are searching for the meaning of life? How many are searching for purpose? How many are searching for peace? Imagine holding all this in your hands and not sharing it with a world that's seeking answers. A true Christian couldn't do that.

Why Jesus tried to convert people in his time?
We follow his example he command his followers go from home to home and town to town preaching God´s kingdom.
Do you know what is the meaning of God´s kingdom?
What Is God’s Kingdom?
WHAT a terrible disaster struck mankind early in human history! An angel rebelled against the authority of the very One who had created him. This rebel enticed the first woman, Eve, to eat the forbidden fruit. Referring to her and her husband, Adam, the angel said: “You positively will not die. For God knows that in the very day of your eating from it your eyes are bound to be opened and you are bound to be like God, knowing good and bad.” (Genesis 2:16, 17; 3:1-5) The rebellious angel came to be called Devil and Satan.—Revelation 12:9.

Jesus commanded us to PREACH to people about God's Kingdom. We do just that. If the people decide they like what they are hearing and decide to join our cause, you can't say we 'converted' them. They recognize the truth themselves and make the informed decision to accept it as the truth.
No one is forced to become a Witness. So the better question to ask is - "Why did you choose to become a Witness?"

Jehovah's Witnesses have the wrong idea. They have changed the words of the bible to suit their own needs. Christians are trying to spread the good news to people, the good news being how Jesus Christ died to save us from hell. We're trying to help people, but I'll admit, alot of people are "parrot christians". They use the same words that everyone else uses, and they don't speak from personal experience.

people who beat you up with a bible are not following the christian message; God gives a gift of freedom to choose him or not; it is our gift to spend it or squander it; do not get confused about people who use the Word for their own self serving promotion and bible beating; that isn't the true message ; to follow the message , you follow the message given to us by and through his son Jesus; his message was clear , look not to others to cast out but to ourselves; cast not the first stone; turn the other cheek no matter how many times; honor thy father etc etc ; Jesus did not have to beat up people with the message, he lived it.
