... then isn't it the same as when a Christian spells atheist "athiest"?

If the person that is reading the question knows that "bibel" is actually the misspelled word "bible" then I think that the misspelling can be overlooked. Just like when you see athiest vs. atheist.

Poor spelling loses credibility. It's the same when anyone says anything in a barely readable manner. To say otherwise is to ignore the fact that someone has been presented with information and then distorted it on the most basic level. It leads to the conclusion that that same person is most likely failing in understanding what they are trying to say and their argument can be dismissed as foolishness.

The only thing that would lose credibility would be the intelligence of a person regardless of being atheist or Christian that doesn't have the sense to use Spellchecker!

In the upper right hand corner of the text box, there is a spell check, some people will grab on spelling to down the asker. It actually works in your benefit, because whatever they said is invalidated by their obvious petty nature, though it is painful to read some of these questions like this:

Y Cannt I du sumthing w/o sum wun knot licking it!

See what I mean? Try spell check, it's fun and makes you sound intelligent.

No - people who attach that much importance to spelling rarely see beyond the word to the underlying meaning.

If you asked me a question about the 'Bibel' - I would know what you were talking about.

Kind of a waste of 5 points, dont you think? I've talked to many "athiests" who spelled it that way too my dear. Christians can spell, not everyone calling you an "athiest" is a Christian. Does it really bother you enough to waste 5 points on it?

Apparently it does.

but athiests are not mentioned in the bibel, so it's okay to misspell them.
