I am not prejudice to any person for their beliefs. I understand that Christianity is a very strict religion. Most Christians I have known turned out to be hypocrites--they claim to be Christian, yet they do not follow the rules of the bible. Just a few examples I can give off the top of my head: A Christian I knew at one time who turned out to own pornography, a Christian I knew who turned out to be an alcoholic, many I have known who turned out to be adulterers, and the list goes on and on. In fact, there is not one Christian I have personally known who is not a hypocrite. Just to clarify, I am talking not about their past lives but their hypocritical lifestyles while claiming the religion.

It's not the idea of the religion itself, but most of the people associated with Christianity that make it very unappealing to me. I understand a lot of people need to cling to something. but this tends to be a focus point for hypocrites

This hurts me to say but.... I believe most of us are.

That's what happens when you shove religion in front of God. Think about it, people are introduced to this rather vague idea of God and Jesus and they adopt it, and live with it, but that's as far as it goes.

Calling yourself a "Christian" means you have the Christian faith, and nothing more. Saying "I follow Jesus" actually means something.

People have fanatics harass them, grow up around religion, and find most people who claim to be something, are nothing like what they claim to be, and since that's all most people see, then I understand all the hate against Christians.

The term "Christian" means nothing more then a religion. Saying "I follow Jesus Christ" means something.

The name Christian was originally a derogatory term that meant "little Christ." The whole point of being a Christian is to be like Jesus. Problem: Jesus was perfect, blameless, and sinless. Who can possibly live up to that?

The truth of the matter is, we're ALL hypocrites. We're not perfect, and we never will be.

I've started to put it that I became a Christian a year ago, I am becoming a Christian presently, and I will become a Christian. That's the way the process works.

I do try very hard not to be a hypocrite, though.

Christians are just as much hypocrites as any other groups, because they are human...just like you.
They have just been forgiven because they put their trust in Christ. Many say they are christian but are not, some attend a particular church or denomination and believe they are christian but may not be.

Christians do not live perfect lives they just follow a perfect God...some day He will return and give us eternal bodies and change our natures and then we will never sin again.

For now we just live in God's grace and do not Practice sin, and if we do sin God is quick and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

i think of we are, because of the fact no-one's appropriate. I even have long been in touch approximately Christian hypocrisy because of the fact this is as though each and every thing Jesus accused the non secular human beings of his day of additionally applies to us. There are ranges of hypocrisy, of direction, yet regrettably i do think of it applies greater to particular Christians than to the uncomplicated guy or woman interior something of the international. What occurs then, however, is that the "loud" anyone is the hypocrites, yet there are dissimilar "quiet" people who are not, so apparently like they're because of the fact of a greater seen minority who're. nonetheless, this is significant that i renowned my own hypocrisy too. What concerns me approximately it rather is what's happening with those human beings. Christ supplies us a definite power to advance ourselves which they the two are not applying or they're commencing from an quite low base. i ask your self whether for some reason this power is unavailable to them, no longer because of the fact they're in some "inferior" type, yet because of the fact there is a few thing incorrect with their Christian preparation, because it have been.

It is humanity that is hypocritical. If a detailed analysis were to be made the proportion of hypocrites will most likely turn out to be the same for all religious persuasions, and for atheism.

Probably every single person you meet that has sinned would be a hypocrite to you. That means everybody because there is only one who is perfect. Christianity is solely responsible for turning me away from alcoholism and in the right direction to lead my life, but there is still sin in my life. The good thing now is that a lot more times than before I can recognize it and turn from it before I am engulfed in it. GOD BLESS!!

Many Christians are in the process of finding deliverance from the things you have mentioned. One of the reasons many are drawn to Jesus is because they are looking for a new life. Because a person claims Jesus as their Lord and Savior does not mean that all the habits or problems they brought with them instantly vanish.
Although God has the power to do miracles does not mean that problems just drop away like scales. God works from the inside out. He starts with the heart and soul. As a believer stays faithful and submits them self to God, He is faithful to remove those problems in His good time.
As Romans 3:10 says, "As it is written: 'There is none righteous, no, not one.'"
And Romans 4:7-8, "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin."

I guess you will find among Christians the same amount of alcoholics, porn addicts, etc as in any other group.

Christianity is open to HUMANS, no matter what their weaknesses are. Did you know that Jesus was criticized for socializing with the prostitutes and 'sinners' of his time? He said he had come for those who need him, not for those who think they are perfect.

I wouldn't call your examples hypocritical (unless they were very outspoken against such activities), I'd call them human. I'm sure there are items in your closet that, under your definition above, someone else might consider to make you hypocritical.

Yes, that is true, but even Jesus himself said this would be so. Jesus said that many would come in his name declaring that he is the Christ but will deceive many and Jesus himself told of people in the day of judgment who would say to him Lord Lord but he would tell them depart from me ye who work iniquity I never knew you for many will be called but few chosen. Jesus himself said the the majority will go to hell and that very few will enter heaven.

The modern Christian like to excuse there disobedience by saying we are just saved sinners.
