My mother, who grew up in Selma, Alabama, told me that in her society it was considered rude to praise the hostess for the food served at dinner, on the grounds that that implied that she was too poor to afford a kitchen staff. (My mother grew up during the Depression).

Massachusetts Catholics can easily put Catholics on the school boards of a large percentage of children in the state.
How do you feel about them as government officials controling your childres religious education if we pass a prayer in school amendment?

I was raised Catholic and attended a very good private Catholic school.

I mean ever since mankind could THINK...... they couldnt have known about the forces of nature, and just got in the bad habit of explanations through GOD's, at least a few thousand GOD's and some of these God's were prime-time, and some are still around. Is it just a bad habit?

I find it somewhat disturbing that some people at high school and college events are so preoccupied during the flag raising and anthem. I think patriotism has gone the way of religion in the classrooms.

I was at a recent event when an honored congressman was busy fanning himself and adjusting his clothing during the anthem. He will not get my vote!!

I was pleased to see the passage of OK Sen Inhofe.s bill that allows veterans and servicemen out of uniform to salute the flag.
