but these same unbelievers will take their family to the church for a free meal or they will bring home clothes for their children from the church.

Or they will seek a favor from the church during a natural disaster.

I cannot make sense out of this.

The news shows that prayers can help with getting over post-holiday Monday blues:

What tips do you have that can help people get back into the routine of daily life after a break?

An alleged Christian contributor to this forum stated in one answer that:-
"Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with our Savior."
What are we to make of that statement?

Lets face it folks when it comes right down to it. No matter what the religion you prefess to beleive they are all the same. As in they all share a common belief of a devine spirt or god. Once you strip them all down to the base level the song remains the same. Everyone just sings it in a different pitch. True or false ?

And i mean competing for the most publicity and the most attention? It's seems that most love the media attention (royals of UK) whiles others are forgotten and you hardly hear anything about them (royals of monaco). Others however, don't particularly like media attention (royals of Japan). But what do you think the royals are thinking whenever they swith on their TV and see another monarch on their channel? do they get jealous? or feel that they need to also get some attention???

Wait one second...If we couldn't play competitive sports, Why can they?
If you are an active Jehovah's Witness, it is against your religion to play competitive sports, namely to Keep score.

No little league..No after school football..tennis..or any organized sports, what so ever...

Occasionally the Brothers will have a Ball game, but there is never a score kept..Fact...

So...Explain the Williams sisters being active Jehovah's Witnesses and being able to play competitive sprots.

Any run of the mill Witness would be brought before the Elders for this.....and if the competitive sports did not stop, probably disfellwoshipped.

How can this not be a double standard?

I see those testimonies in the church: "I was a bad person, I was an alcoholic, I used drugs, I was selfish, I was a criminal (just a few examples of what I have heard), and then I found Jesus and I am saved"

Those kind of people tend to be the most devoted ones. Do you think it is because they feel guilty and have problems dealing with their own conscience, therefore they find refugee in religion? Do you think they find forgiveness in religion when in fact they can't forgive themselves? Why we can't see testimonies of people just saying "I turned to Jesus because He sounds plausible to me", not because of the sin trip?

But these same unbelievers will go to the church during a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina and eat church food, sleep in church beds, shower using the church soap and shampoo provided and most importantly, these same unbelievers that get angry at the church going from door to door will wear the clothes donated by the church.

Hmmm??

How can you sleep at night knowing you're an unbeliever of the church.

Shame on You!!

Peace and God Bless!
Atheism has been refuted simply because the human mind is not powerful enough to completely and fully understand the entire universe.

Have a great Labor day!!

Unbelievers are to hypocrital.

I am a Chritian (Church of Christ) and I have struggled with this question for years. Each religion (Baptits, Methodists, Catholic, etc) think that their religion is the "correct" religion. Do they think that everyone else is going to hell if they don't share in their beliefs? I mean, I try to follow what the Bible says to a T and when I slip up, I ask for forgiveness. But these other religions are trying to do the same thing. Does this mean that they are going to hell in the end because they are not sharing my same beliefs? I would like to think that if we all try to do our best we will share a home in Heaven. What do you think?

Everytime I see this, I simply want to hurl: Answerers whose source is something like "Proud wife of a U.S. (insert armed force)," etc.

Pride in one's spouse is one thing, but come on!

1. That block is to credit the source of one's answer...the site you researched if you surfed the net, the book you read if applicable, etc.
2. It's irrelevant to all the answers I've seen where people do this.
3. It's 2007: Have your own identity and your own credibility. Answer the question, cite it if necessary and go on with life.

Proud man who has achieved things besides marrying a member of the armed forces (although I've done that too).

Can anyone please show me the verses where Jesus spoke about killing someone in the name of God or molesting small children in the Church of God will be acceptable? How about showing me one single verse where Jesus waged a bloody and violent war.

An unbeliever showed me in Luke 19:27 where Jesus said "Bring the enemies to me and kill them" ----

If you start reading from Luke 19:1, you will see Jesus was telling a story about a nobleman.

This is why unbelievers do not understand the bible, but they would tell me over and over that Jesus was talking about killing people if they didn't believe in him. That is so untrue!

Unbelievers have read the bible, I give them that much, but they do not understand what they are reading.

Peace and God Bless!
