he is muslim because all prorhets and messengers called for the same thing and that is to worship Allah Alone and to believe in Him alone (Tawheed), and that is the religion of Isalm.

Abraham had two sons, Ishmael, and Issac. The children of Ishmael became those who are Muslim. While the children of Issac became those who follow Judaism. In other words Abraham is the father of two great nations. Islam, Judiasm, and Christianity all have the same God. Islam believes that they are the chosen from the fact that Abraham's first born was Ishmael and it was Ishmael that God told Abraham to kill. Jews and Christians believe that it was Issac that was to be killed. Jews and Christians differ in that the Jews are still waiting for their Messiah to come. Christians believe that he came in the person of Jesus Christ. Muslims believe that Jesus Christ was a prophet no more or less than that.

The definition of Islam is: submitting to Gods will.
Therefore, both Jesus and Abraham and ALL of the previous prophets and holy men were Muslims. This ofcourse, without labels, without actually thinking they belonged to a religion.
They just did what God told them to do.
This is what Islam is. Its not complicated at all.
Because to be Muslim all you need to do is believe in God and submitt to His will.
The rest is for good measure that you stay on that course.

a muslim is some one who submits to god.
there have been 124,000 prophets and messengers, abraham was one of them. he had 2 children.
prophet mohammed desended from one of his children.
the reason we (muslims) dont consider other religions to be muslims (somone who submits to god) is because the dont follow the way of the last messanger of god.
first there was judism
then christianity
them islam
from the time judism was formed untill the next prophet came the jews were muslims
and from time chirstianity till the prophet muhammed (pbuh) came the christians were muslims, but when the prophet muhammed was given prophethood it was islam untill the day of judgment it is the way of islam because there is not prophet or messenger to come

He was a Jew. The Muslims got it all messed up. They changed the Old Testament. Christians and Jews keep the original OT.
