I'm sure you don't see the difference between charity and pushing your faith, and that is exactly why people resent you.

True: Many unbelievers and unfaithful Christians are fair-weather friends of the Church. However, door-to-door evangelism can be problematic. On the one hand, it works: Heretical organizations like the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses have been quite successful. On the other hand, it invades the privacy of the home. It isn't a matter of "shoving their religion down their throat," but it is invasive. Why not make religious arguments in a public forum, like Yahoo Answers? Why not witness with smiles, reasons, and a virtuous life among coworkers and friends?

I don't know what religion you are refering to as going 'door to door', but as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, we do go door to door and not to shove our religion down anyones throat. We have an important message to tell and that's all. And also if there is a disaster, we don't first ask the people what religion they are before we offer help to them. It doesn't matter, they are human beings and need help, then help they will get.

What the heck are you talking about?
Oooh, I see, you mean the victims of natural disasters who happen to be non-christians utilizing the charity of churches?
Do christians even like you? I would like to know how many christians approve of what you just said. Would you not take my charity because I'm an atheist?
I am not stupid-I will rely on the kindness of strangers regardless of their background.
Not only christians are good samaritans.
Are you a troll?

I will? Care to prove that? Oh yeah, you can't. Sounds like someone just made that up. And as far as your 'logic' goes, sounds like you believe in all 10000 gods ever worshiped, right? 'Cause you don't know everything, right? You must be busy. I'm surprised you have time to demonstrate your ignorance online - doesn't Zeus want you to kill a pig for him or something?

If you were running a church-based shelter, would you check people's religious beliefs before allowing only the 'correct' ones in? How 'christian' that would be!!
An atheist
