Shows creationists aren't the only slow witted ones walking the Earth. How much further to we have to advance as atheists before we can claim superiority? Does our lack of a sense of humor at times bring us closer to our religious bretheren?

Did I just waste your time?

The world is full of different religions and christianity likes to claim how many followers they have somehow makes their religion more valid than the others. This religion was brought to the masses with force and violence and genocide. Many cultures and cultural historical documents were wiped out all under the blanket of "blasphemy". Kind of contradicts the "peaceful" message it was supposed to spread.

Christians have been screaming apocalypse for 2000 years… Don’t you think they ought to be getting a tad hoarse by now? It has got to feel like getting stood up for prom. It's 5:00 AM, your date ain't coming!

I know this is one of those, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?” questions.

So many Christians seem to be so concerned with their children being homosexual, and immediately preachers and other Christians will be upon them preaching to them, yet typical High School fornication they turn a totally blind eye to and you never hear them saying "Your being a fornicator" even though fornication is condemned over 20 times in the Bible, is put in along with the other major sins, and homosexuality only 3 (2 in New Testament).

And don't say because homosexuality is an "abomination", when by the same token many will say "Well we can eat shellfish and pork unlike the Jews because Jesus put away those Old Testament laws." Well shellfish and pork is called an "Abomination" as well, so is touching a woman during her menstrual cycle, therefore since it is in the Old Testament you can't use "abomination" to describe JUST gay if your going to exclude the other abominations. You can use the New Testament Verses which put homosexuality in some places right next to fornication

Most Christians believe that Jesus was the literal son of God, and also God, right? So theoritacly, we could retrieve D.N.A. from Veronicas Veil and clone God? That doesn't sound right to me. Until the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. the popular belief was that Jesus was a human born of miraculous conception, not God himself. But at the Council, it was decided that from then on out, it would be taught that Jesus WAS God, in human form. The point of this was to mystify Christianity, so it could compete withpopular Greek mythology. Making making Jesus into a God, and adopting the philosophy of the Trinity, the Church would appeal more to pagans who were then multi-theists. It was also at this time that the collection of books that would become known as the Bible (from the Greek 'biblia', meaning 'book') was edited and collated. Before this time, there were literally hundreds of books, epistles, and short stories that were being used to teach Christianity. It was at this time that the

I have had many non-believers reply to my Judeo-Christian centered questions in the negative, but I wounder how many of you have really studied the Bible, and come to the conclusions of non-belief that you have? Or are you just repeating someone else's logical arguments and calling them your ideas?

How many of you understand the validity of ancient's stories for all cultures, are "word of mouth" story telling, and how critical it was to know that the many stories and prophecies outside of the Hebrew culture are based on the same principles of story telling?

Many of you say that you are athiests, and I wonder how many of you have read books by athiests that have come to a change of heart based on the scientific irrifutable facts of the study of ancient document keeping, and the way ancient scociety preserved it's history. The scientific process is the same for all archeologists, faith based or not.

Lee Strobel, the Case for Christ is a good start. Any thoughts?

They all get the immediate opportunity to go to Heaven, which Christians claim is a wonderful place where everybody is finally happy. Christians according to their faith should be happy for the aborted and others that get to go there, but instead they complain that they should not go there yet. Are they jealous because some get to go there before them, or do they not really believe that Heaven is a great place after all, or maybe they don't really believe it exists. Boy, are Christians ever a confusing lot!

My boyfriend is out of town until Sunday. I asked him if it would be OK if I went over to his apartment to swim while he is gone (I don't have a pool at my house.) He said, "Yeah - that's fine - you can do whatever you want". I already have the key to his apt.

My question is this:

Would it be OK if I invited a girlfriend over to swim with me, and made some margaritas (with our own booze, not his) to hang out? He has met her, and he likes her, but he didn't specifically say this was OK because I didn't think to ask, and he will be out of communication until he gets back.

We would, of course, clean up any mess we made.

Is this OK?
