Yeah, I am, uh, a non-believer in the pink unicorn so I qualify as a non-believer woo! I simply used the CJ argument.

Hehe I read the question in your link. Some people like to cause trouble, believer or not.

I know good believers and non-believers.

I know bad believers and non-believers.

I think it is a more of a human thing than a belief thing.

I did answer the other question too. Check it out.

First of all...what's with all the thumbs down to sincere answers to this question by Christians/Believers??? Talk about intolerance... To answer your question, I believe in God because I feel in my heart He exists. Sorry, no logical basis for it, though I have seen some things in my life that I really can't explain, such as answers to prayers. So I guess to an extent, the evidence I've seen through my life-experience is another reason. The third reason is hope. I have hope or faith or whatever you want to call it (wishful thinking?) that God has a purpose for me and that there is a reason for all this.

In defense of CJ, a non-believer in the linked question did it first. :P

(And I agree that it's not fair to generalize everyone. I've met some Atheists who are nicer than some believers on here. I think it's like that in any group.)

Why do people find it necessary to insult, condemn and ridicule each other in R&S? I am a Christian. I don't give two hoots if my neighbor is Christian, Wicken, Hindu, Muslim or beilieves in the Great Pumpkin. As long as he respects my right to worship God as I understand Him, and does not push his views upon me, I will never speak out against him.

Christians do not start wars, Idiots cause wars. Muslims do not massacure people, Savages do. Atheists don't steal babies for sacrifices, Lunatics do.

Please do not paint us all with the same brush.

Well the problem with this question is that there are so many varying Christians - as well as the 'Christians' that dont practice their own faith.

But generally -

1) Have an unrelenting belief in God and the Bible
2) Think that it is not only their right, but their obligation to spread the word of the bible to just about anyone that they meet... whether or not you want to hear it.
3) Believe they are going to heaven... and likely most around them are not.

I am real sorry for the answers that were given in the other question, I missed that one today. . .that is not how I feel about atheist.

I am a Christian and I do not judge others or say mean things with intent to hurt. . . .so really this question doesn't make the other wrong right, you know.

And, geeze, "loveless" oh dear, you have some of us figured so wrong. . .there is no greater gift in my life than the gift of love. . . .sigh

Wow, I really felt the love off that posted Question! It's good to know they have such open hearts and minds.

Personally I think there are two kinds of people. Those who think there are two kind of people, and those that don't. I'm in the latter group. I don't like to generalize.

Most Christians simply stand for what they believe in. Just as I stand for what I believe in as an Atheist. Evangelizing is something I am opposed to and that is just the way it is.

Hard to say; Christians vary all over the map and generalizations are risky.

I'm not looking to "dish out" anything. I have friends and family that come from a wide range of religious beliefs. All I insist on is that they show my views the same level of respect that I show theirs.
