"But under certain circumstances there are some serious sins for which the cleansing of Christ does not operate, and the law of God is that men must then have their own blood shed to atone for their sins."

-Doctorines of Salvation

The Bible teaches that the blood of Christ is the only way to salvation, so why do Mormons believe that Jesus' sacrafice wasn't good enough for certain sins?

"I who am the beauty of the green earth and the white moon
among the stars and the mysteries of the waters, I call upon your soul to arise and come unto me. For I am the soul of nature that gives life to the universe. From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return. Let My worship be in the heart tha rejoices, for behold -- all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals. Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. And you who seek to know Me, know that your seeking and yearning will avail you not, unless you know the Mystery: for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without. For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire."

Clearly god doesn't love everyone. Not even most people.

And in case you plan on answering 'people send themselves to hell', Let me put it this way, If you had the power to do so, would you allow people you love to suffer in hell?

Isaac Newton came up with theories of optics, gravity and invented the integral Calculus while sequestered away in his study. His ideas leapt well ahead of anyone before his time yet no one says that his works came from anywhere but from a man.

Yet the Bible has really no original ideas in it, no science to speak of, no great insights into the human condition, but people insist it must be of God – Why?

(And please spare me the prophesy stuff, it is all either too vague, self fulfilling or written after the fact).

After being excommunicated and losing all of your friends...Jobs...families...everything..does it finally feel good to you to have a platform like this to be able to tell others what is was really like?

I realised why I hang out here and do what I do...
I never got to tell my side of the story....
When they kick you out...there is no closure...They can do what they want and no one will speak to you so you can't explain what want wrong and how you are mistreated....

Why do you do it? I'm not criticizing anyone... i do it from time to time. nothing hard... just stuff like alcohol or weed... but i mean... as long as it doesn't start to run your life... what's a few oxcodone's gonna do? yes, it's addicting... but you need to face the facts that you need self-discipline. And to all the "head" haters.. why do you label someone as a horrible person when they do drugs? yes, some drugs will make you act different, but that's the person's fault. i've smoked a few times in my life, not alot, but some people wont even be my friend cuz of it. why are they so arrogant when it comes to things like that? they all talk about.. "high on life," or "high on god," well,, if i wanna be high on weed or anything else, then so be it. you be high on your stuff... ill be high on my stuff. why's your stuff ultimately "better?" (given i do it responsibly, i.e., keep it out of the workplace and don't drive under the influence?)

Even young males growing up in productive homes nowadays with both parents present seem to want to hit the streets. They think that's what being a black man is all about. How do we change that trend?

Many point out the bad parts of the Bible such as killing disobedient children, killing non-believers, killing those who break the Sabbath, etc.

Of course Christians defend their holy book by saying that under the New Covenant we are no longer subject to those parts. That is honestly the BEST NEWS I’ve herd about the Bible. Does that say much for it?

Here is a short summary. There is an Arab school opening in Brooklyn that is supoosed to help reduce the ignorance of the Arab people...or something like that(I gathered this from watching Hannity and Colmes)

But my question is, since they have not made it clear what will be taught there, who will teach, and which books will be used...how will we know what is really going to be done there?

The tax payers will be paying for part of the school...they, according to the interview on Hannity and Colmes, will have a religious board. Isn't that a seperation of church and state?

Also, if they really want to reduce the ignorance of the Arab culture why don't they just offer a course about Middle Eastern culture in public schools already open?

I do not see how letting a hundred students(at max) go to a school dedicated specifically to the Arab culture will help reduce the ignorance.

The word "daraba" used 5 other times in the Quran, and it literally means to leave the area. Separate. Not physically beat up and bruise. This accompanying hadith further proves this. What do you think about this?

"On the Treatment of Women
Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: I went to the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) and asked him: "What do you say (command) about our wives?" He replied: "Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them." (Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 11, Number 2139) "The best of you is one who is best towards his family and I am best towards the family". (At-Tirmithy). "None but a noble man treats women in an honourable manner. And none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully". (At-Tirmithy)"

Ok so we all know that BC goes from whatever number it started from down to zero and then we have AD which goes up. BC means before christ so at zero BC Jesus was probably born, right? and then we have 1 AD and so forth. But my question is why the counting backwards. Did the church change around time so that it wold coincide with Jesus' birth? and if they did, how were years measured before the church screwed up the entire process?
