The word "daraba" used 5 other times in the Quran, and it literally means to leave the area. Separate. Not physically beat up and bruise. This accompanying hadith further proves this. What do you think about this?

"On the Treatment of Women
Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: I went to the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) and asked him: "What do you say (command) about our wives?" He replied: "Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them." (Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 11, Number 2139) "The best of you is one who is best towards his family and I am best towards the family". (At-Tirmithy). "None but a noble man treats women in an honourable manner. And none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully". (At-Tirmithy)"

I find it ironic that muslim men who strive to emulate the prophet in all areas of life fail to emulate him in this regard. When the prophet had problems with all his wives what did he do....he left them(daraba) for one month while everyone had time to think over the consequences of a potential divorce happening. he did not beat them which would have been his right if that is what the verse meant....he was the best example of what men should strive to be and yet in this very basic human action they fail to see how so inhuman and unIslamic they are being in feeling God has given them the right to beat their wives...those women that are your other half, that are a garment for you as you are for them, that have heaven at their feet for the children that she bore you...etc... no matter that all hadith by the prophet referring to women never ever condones beating them while several are obviously against it...and yet men still persist in belief that it is a right from God. God mentions justice over 50 times in the Quran...he even says its haram to insitgate violence against your enemy unless they start first...but this same God so concerned with justice also gives men the right to beat their wives....? Please tell me where is the moral code of muslims when it comes to treating their wives as something to cherish and love as your spouse, life partner, and mother of your children? very sad

Why does a Muslim choose a Native American Woman as an avatar. Could it be the freedom and pride that image has come to mean that can never be matched in Islam?

I see you have changed your avatar from a Native American to a Pagan Princess. That is interesting. Are you afraid to show the truth of what Islam does to women's rights. I guess you might say all Muslim women are asleep waiting for a true Prince to awaken them to freedom.

i hope that you are happy with your herd.. people are here to ask questions not to read long articles about something they do not wanted to read because they did not requested it and YES I AM A MUSLIMA, I FEAR ALLAH (SWT) and i am worrying that you will cause more misunderstanding with your copy and paste and 100000 posts :(

i leave now, i will relax and read The Holy Quraan

you know, this is our guidance from Allah (SWT), just to remind you..
i think you and the other muslims should read it as soon as you can, it is more beneficial than killing time here (and copy and paste articles)
so, read the Quraan, offer more prayers, fear Allah (SWT), this is for all the other muslims here

i hope that Omer will say his Shahada again.. he accused me with a false thing and he committed a sin with that, he must repent it to Allah (SWT) and seek forgiveness and may his repentance will be accepted, InshaAllah..
