"They tell me dogs don't go to Heaven. Well, if that's so, when I die I want to go where dogs go."

I don't think animals go to heaven because God didn't give them a choice. They do have soul but not a spirit. There are Christians who believe that animals do go to heaven and other Christians believe they don't. I am one of the latter but if there are animals in heaven, then that is okay. God is the God of the impossible. Every story I have read about heaven, they never metioned animals.

I believe it goes something like this. Humans were made in the image of God and have a soul that other livings things lack. This soul spends its time after a person dies in either heaven or hell based on whether or not the individual accepts or rejects Christ's payment for their sins through his death on the cross.

Why do you think they don't? I always have thought thatthey do. They aren't human for one....they know no sin...their brains don't have that capablility.....for two God created them....and three if they know no sin then what is keeping them from heaven? I believe that they go to Heaven...but hey that's just me
I also think that they have a soul. I mean why would God create us (we are mammals) and we have a soul...so why not nimals...and other mammals.

Who says they won't be? There will be animals in the Millenial Kingdom when Jesus comes at The Second Coming and rids this earth of evil and sets up His Kingdom on this restored earth. Read Revelation, it tells about the animals that will all be tame. God made animals for our enjoyment and for us to rule over (Genesis). We do not know if God will bring our loved pets back to us or not. The Bible does not elaborate on this part, but God is a God of love and maybe......?.....But one thing is for sure, there won't be any loved pets in the lake of eternal fire!

According to St. Thomas Aquinas, it is the intellective part of the soul that is eternal and therefore survives death. Animals have a nutritive soul and a sensitive soul, but unlike humans and angels they do not have an intellective soul. For this reason they do not survive death.

The Bible says we are just like the animals. Both simply return to dust.

In my perfect afterlife my buddy, Pudge is happy healthy and waiting on me. Either that or he is reincarnated as my new puppy who spooks my wife and I with the similar behavior and habits. In a perfect after life our vision of it comes true. If the divine is truley supreme each individual soul can attain heaven of their choice. No divine entity could be so unkind as to require us all to suffer the same cookie cutter afterlife. Certainly such an all powerfull can be more creative?

Animals don't have souls so they cant except Jesus in there life and if they dont just like people they wont go to heaven so if you didn't ask Jesus to come in to your life you wont go to heaven.
