It's very common for people of same likes and dislikes to stick together, so when someone comes out and says that they are bi or gay, a lot of people don't want to be associated with someone like that in case that other people will think that they are the same.

people need time to get used to changes. if a person just came out of the closet he/she should talk to their friends that they should treat them as normal as can be. Some poeple might feel that they should walk on eggshells in order not to offend the gay or bi person. it's different if you met a gay person from a start than learning something drastically new about an old friend.

People don't just TURN bi or gay.........they've always been that way. Their friends who shared a lot of experiences including camping, etc, suddenly realize that they wanted to be more than friends, are uncomfortable. If they are really friends, they will come to accept it.
