i am not a religious person. i was sitting here thinking about life and i dont want any answers praising god, i only want athiest answers. i have had both my parents die and it is sort of sad that i dont believe in a higher power but i came to the realization that there is none. i believe purely that we die into nothingness, no memories or anything just everything lost because how can we have any of that when the thing which stores everything is oxygen starved and has died... sorry rambling on. i believe that white light everyone sees is the eyes dieing. i would like to know what other STRICTLY NON RELIGIOUS people think. thankyou for your answers it would help understand a bit more.

The guileful woman is instinctively aware of this power and makes the utmost use of it.

When the first man fall from Love, ( nowadays we called it "fall - in love") he literally lost control over his mind and body. beside being alienated from God in his spirit.
The Woman on the other hand, gained power through the increased physical influence of her attractive body.

If man were sufficiently awake and aware to see how the woman is using sex to control him, he would be literally turned off by her ugliness n her antics, but as long as he needs woman's support for his ego, the last thing he wants to be - is AWAKE AND AWARE, so th tacitly insists that she continue to play her quiet little games with him and never drop the bomb of an honest word that would shatter the serenity of his "slumber room"

Men is it time to change all that ?

Wake up and be aware of your ego-testicle need to feel like "god" when you know you're a "dog"?

Sorry women, for whistle-blowing on you. someone must !

Do you support Euthanasia for people who are dying of a terminal illness, and are of sound enough mind to make such a decision in consideration of the consequences? This could take place in form of actually Euthanising the person, or by assisted suicide. Why/why not?
Serious answers only please.

"OUT OF CONTEXT!"

Oh weve heard the braindead apologists for the super violent Quran use this phrase a thosand times. Ive never met one that even understood the meaning of the expression.

First, it is "out of context" to use the phrase without explaining what exactly is the context! The Quran itself has no context...that is...there is no introduction that explains how the chapters relate or whether they were only meant to be a historical chronolgy instead of a present tense commandement.

The only context one can use is the chapter itself. Consider this verse (aya):

Quran 9:29 “fight (jihad) those who believe not in allah” http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/009.qmt.html

This little gem comes from (Surah At Tawba) uses present tense language. Pagans are discussed in the beggining, but Christians and Jews are later included. The whole chapter is pure violence. There is no redeeming peace anywhere, and no past tense language...this is meant to be obeyed NOW as a commandment.

I would like to pray, not to a God, but to the universe perhaps? Something that gives me inner strength and hope and peace of mind...in general or for a particular situation.

I would like some ideas on what thoughts I could use...? I wonder if atheists have certan nice, standard prayers that could be used. If not, I think there should be a resource.

ps: I really think prayer doesn't always mean praying to a God.

various scriptures or religious beliefs to a person without taking into account extenuating circumstances etc?
For example, my fiance and I were both abused as children, my fiance's father even tried to kill him. Its not like we go around talking badly about our parents, we rarely mention them in a bad way. Yet one of our friends recently lectured us, admonishing us to honor our parents and deeply respect them, knowing full well what has happened to both of us and that this is a painful subject for us.
I understand that basic rules and principles are very important to some religious people, but don't they realise that a little sensitivity and compassion also go a long way?
Why do people force rules down others throats without stopping to consider the consequences?

are you answering these questions to help others understand, or are you trying to make yourself look wise? do you answer these questions out of love, or do you do it to insult others? it's easy to fall into that trap, and i can't say that i'm 100% innocent, but after reading some of the responses on this site from other christians, i think that from time to time, we all need to be reminded to answer these questions with helpful intentions in mind. peace.

The worlds most ignorant people believe in Adam and Eve or some other creation fable. However, some religionists desperately try to hold onto the last strand of their religion with an theistic evolution theory.

The argument goes "Yea, ok, evolution is real, but God triggered the process to create man". Uh, lets try to imagine God's thinking process over 4 billion years:

God's Diary

4 to 1 billion BC -

Its fun watching earths atmosphere changing constantly. Those arthropods are kicking arss, interesting to see how they evolve and savagely compete with the the pre-cursor to mammals. Only another 100 million years before my beloved human species is created...cant wait!

800,000,000 BC -

Im gonna wipe out these Dinos soon with a big asteroid, they are so ugly and dominant. Once I wipe these puppies out, only millions of years left till man comes and he will invent nuclear weapons...entertaining...just like my savage nature where Lions eats gazelle.
