It's all about practice. Mongol warriors several hundreds of years ago used to put their hands in hot coal because when doing so the cells die and then you do not feel pain anymore. You lose the nerves in the Palm of your hand or feet when doing so a few times. It hurts in the beginning but then the pain goes, then you can walk on fire or glass and you feel nothing.

the people first usually wrap their feet with cloth to produce sweat, then remove the cloths and walk over the coals, this causes the sweat to evaporate when it touches the coals, leaving the feet unharmed.

phsics... the coals are slow to transfer heat so you must have the right material burning and move fast in a way that feet dont stay in contact long enough to transfer heat. standing on ce first also helps.
