World recognizes India as a developing country. You can find our presence in most of the countries in the world. remember HOTMAIL, it was invented by a couple of Indian lads in america. Most people dont even know about many places i their own cities let alone the world, so its ok not to know about India.
As far as letting people know about India, I think our culture and the achievements of our people all over the globe speaks for itself.
Thanks for the question, many shall get to know India thru you.
Thanks

No, it is considered a developing country, not developed, same with China.
India and China are doing really well and should be considered developed rather soon, next few decades probably, the changes are massive. Some say China's hosting of the 2008 Olympics is a huge step towards being seen as developed.
So India and China aren't there yet, but the strides are huge, and they're doing it far faster than anyone else because they don't need to learn the new technology as they develop it, they just need to find applications for developed tech and can thus work at developing modern stuff without being fully developed.

They appear to be emerging as a developing country. However they have much to do first in cleaning up the filth and squalor in much of the streets and homes. Most travelers returning from India report of the STENCH and how dirty, filthy, unkempt and unclean everything is in India compared to the other developed countrys in the world. Learn to be CLEANER..... first! Clean, wash, and paint your buildings, clean your streets of trash and garbage and stench. Sanitation and proper HYGENE are sadly lacking by comparison to most of the rest of the world! Travel outside your country to Europe, Canada, U.S.A. etc and you will see the difference.

We know China is fast overtaking us and predicted to be the next world power. I don't think everyone knows about India, but many do. Like any country if you can minimize the bad and continue to maximize the good, the whole world will be better for it. Namaste

I don't know anything about India... so I would guess no. I mean North America, Some parts of South America, Europe, and a little of Northern Africa are all fairly developed places... but I'm not sure about India.

You must live in a house with a very high wall around it, which you never leave! Maybe it's time you did!
Here is a list of the general criteria for a nation to be termed developed by the UN and World Bank:
