Who gets "high?"?

Question

Why do you do it? I'm not criticizing anyone... i do it from time to time. nothing hard... just stuff like alcohol or weed... but i mean... as long as it doesn't start to run your life... what's a few oxcodone's gonna do? yes, it's addicting... but you need to face the facts that you need self-discipline. And to all the "head" haters.. why do you label someone as a horrible person when they do drugs? yes, some drugs will make you act different, but that's the person's fault. i've smoked a few times in my life, not alot, but some people wont even be my friend cuz of it. why are they so arrogant when it comes to things like that? they all talk about.. "high on life," or "high on god," well,, if i wanna be high on weed or anything else, then so be it. you be high on your stuff... ill be high on my stuff. why's your stuff ultimately "better?" (given i do it responsibly, i.e., keep it out of the workplace and don't drive under the influence?)

Remember to be nice, afterall.. what's YAHOO! answers for? and don't say i'm arrogant and not open-minded... that's why i'm posting this question... to see why people will act like that... i like to see both point of views before i judge... thanks...

alright this world dont need no wacked out teenagers all high and bumpin in my shed. If you want to have fun then you do it the old fashion way you go to the casino and gamble all your money away on the craps table. all you teenagers who think that they are sooooooo cool they can smoke guess what your going to die. hell yea you heard it right get a job and maybe you can get an education.

dude me and my friend were talking about the exact same thing the other day, yeah ive smoked pot and got high and i liked it...it doesnt make me a bad person, and i believe its only illegal to smoke because the people who make the laws are ignorant to waht being high is
they probably think when your high your willing to do bad things or that it changes your decision making process but it doesnt
it just opens your mind up to think about things, makes music and movies awesome and every thing funny, and last but not makes cheetos the gift of god

if smoking pot is illegal then i think drinking should be
cuz i mean when have you ever woke up the next day after being high and not know where you were what you did or who you slept with the day before

also a lot more people die becuase the do stupid things when theyre drunk thenwhen theyre high

im not saying drinking is bad im just simply asking why is smoking pot illegal
and people who smoke pot labeled as bad people

also those ppl are bullshiting by bein all "righteous" about it cuz its a natural thing, its not evil it just alters the chemicals in ur body and brain for a period of time. like any drug weather used for medicinal purposes or recreational. and as long as ur responsible and make the right choices for ur self then its fine. all threw history ppl in diferent cultures ahve used certain natural chemicals to get "high" alcohol in moderation is perfectly fine
ppl drink wine and champagne at weedings n crap.. thats not evil. n if sumone wants to drink a little more, or smoke a little more or whaever, that is their choice. if they are having fun its fine. not everyone has an addictive personality. sum ppl do and they should be more carefull becuz they can get hooked on drugs and alcohol easily, but not everyone is like that. and its not fair to label ppl as being "bad" or less becuz they choose to use chemical substances for recreation. its fun. plain and simple. anyone who has ever treid it will tell u that. yea if u over do it its not so fun anymore. but hats the same with everything. if u over eat thats bad for ur health too, its the same with anything.
and alot of the time ppl use drugs to relax and as long as they arent hurting anyone let them do what they want

People judge things they don't understand. They also are scared of things that they don't understand. I have done every drug under the sun, and you are correct when you say it is the person who is at fault when they cause or do negative things under the influence. I have self control, and therefore control every situation I am involved in. Smoke all the pot you want to, and let no one judge you for it, because you are not hurting anyone other than yourself. I gaurantee that person who judges you is as iggnorant, as they are wrong. I personally quit smoking ciggarettes and do no hard drugs anymore, basically because they don't do anything for me. I still smoke pot everyonce in awhile, when I feel like it, It's a good way to relax. Do what makes you happy, and ignore people who want to tell you whats right or wrong...they obviously are not part of the collective of happy, successful people that abide by thier own rules and regulations. INTELLIGENT PEOPLE JUDGE ONLY THEMSELVES AND NO ONE ELSE.

i don't drink alcohol and i don't take pills,
yes i smoke pot
i do because i like to and no it doesn't run my life I DO
and i don't care who likes it and who don't
as far as the 'hard stuff'(powders) well i haven't done that in about a year or so and i wont hang out with anyone who does , not because I'm better than them, but because not only do i not want to associate with that way of life or the bull$hit that comes with it: or prison time for that matter, because i don't know anyone who who can control it (powders)
and no i don't get high before or during work, work is for prosperity (necessary), weed is for enjoyment (not necessary)

i used to smoke a lot with friends and lately i havent been doing it much except for occationally, anyways.. im not sure why people wont be your friend because of it. when i stopped smoking as much i didnt hang out with my friends as often because they were still doing it and i didnt want to be around it. but it all ended up okay and they too slowed down.

im kind of confused on what your question is because at the beginning you sound like you dont like that people smoke and then at the end you make it seem like you do it and your wondering why ppl care..

at the end of the day do what you want.. if people hate you for it, they arent worth your time. if they love you for it then thats cool too..

well the big question is this. Pot is illegal. Society has laws for its orderly running. Now for those who willfully break them and joyfully break these laws we class these as the underbelly of society. so why hang with these types of people?
Weed smokers have a need of a chemical substance to escape reality! Find fulfillment in life and you wont need some chemical to help!
besides a large portion of weed heads are nobodys going nowhere in life!

I agree - nothing wrong with smoking pot once in awhile - like u said - if ur responsible and keep it out of danger for someone else - then get ur high on - just bcuz we smoke pot doesnt make us an addict automatically - some of us have great lifes and great jobs and we use pot bcuz WE CAN!

Because smoking weed is illegal. And if you are willing to break the law for that then one must question what other laws you are willing to break. If someone is with you when you decide to break the law, guess what?, they get nailed for the crime with you.
It is ok to drink as long as you keep it under control.
