Clearly god doesn't love everyone. Not even most people.

And in case you plan on answering 'people send themselves to hell', Let me put it this way, If you had the power to do so, would you allow people you love to suffer in hell?

Ian F makes a good point, I meant 'Love' rather than 'Loved'.

fact is, the 'God of love" has never, nor will ever, send anyone to the pagan based hell, of eternal toment that some people ascribe to him.
As a matter of sciptural fact, God himself condemned the apostate Jews for burning their own children in fire, something that had never come into his heart.
Jer. 7:31: “They [apostate Judeans] have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.” (If it never came into God’s heart, surely he does not have and use such a thing on a larger scale.)

So how it is, that some people today, would contradict the Bible, and promote the lie that a 'God of Love" will burn people in hell forever, is simply repugnant. To God, and to me.

If I had a child that grew up and, with full pre-meditation, murdered another person, was found guilty in a Court of Law and sentence to life or execution I would not try to stop the authorities from taking him away. No matter how much I may love, the Law is worthless of we do not follow it.

Ask any parent how much it hurts to puinish their child, yet did so because of their love for that child and you might understand it.

Why do you all insist on confusing punishment for a lack of love! I see a lack of discipline as a lack of love!

While the bible DOES say "God so loved the world", it isnt in the context of, he loves everyone. He loves it in general, but he HATES sin. In fact, the bible says he hates those who commit sin.

No. You are probably thinking of John 3:16, which says no such thing. The word translated "world" in that verse (kosmos) NEVER means every individual of mankind who has ever lived (see, e.g., John 17:9). Romans 9:13 says that God hated Esau, and Psalm 5:5 says that God hates all WORKERS of iniquity (e.g., fags). Other examples are Proverbs 6:16-19, Psalm 11:5, and Malachi 1:3. Given these verses, how can you say God loves everyone? Can you really say "God loves everyone" when God says "I hated Esau?" Does God love the people in hell?

Furthermore, God specifically says that He ABHORS people who engage in sodomy (as well as other forms of sexual perversion): "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them...And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them." Leviticus 20:13,23. Understand? GOD ABHORS HOMOSEXUALS.

Surely such contrasts are human traits, indicating that God is a man-made idea. The God of the Old Testament is a vengeful jealous God, and of the New Testament a compassionate loving God; again such contrast of the kind we find in humans. Surely an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God, would be a perfectly consistent personality, not flawed with human emotions.

If I loved them I would wish to suffer wit them, or to place us in purgatory if we couldn't go to heaven.
It is said that there is too be another awakening in hell anyway. In which all the damned may redeem themselves.

This is going on the premise that there is a hell and heaven anyway.

because they are given plenty of opportunity to decide for themselves that the only way to Heaven is through the grace of God. if they deny that opportunity then they must suffer the consequences. If God allowed everyone to go to Heaven then it woudn't be unconditional love, we would all be robots. I love my son, but i have to punish him.

you have to understand the Nature of God.

God is Holy and Perfect and Righteous.

of COURSE He can choose to NOT send His creation to hell.

but if He allows us in heaven, with our sins NOT dealt with, then He would also have to allow satan, demons, and all kinds of evil people into heaven too, because His Standard has been breached.

If His standard is breached, then His Nature is not CONSISTENT, God would not be God, but He would be a liar.

If I respect them, then yes, they are free to choose to live with me or without me. Otherwise I would be FORCING my will on them and that's NOT loving them.
To spend eternity in heaven means you are willing to accept God's will for you fully and completely.
So if you're not even willing to do that here on earth, what makes you think you'd be happier if God forced His will on you in the after life?

Clearly if there is an afterlife, we will be fully aware of what we next need to experience, existence would be eternal no single experience would be.

Seriously though, if I could send people to hell I probably wouldn't, whether I loved them or not. I'd make them watch commercials all day instead and that would be punishment enough.
