Hello all! I pray that you are all doing well today.
Fresh flowers from the garden, bouquets of roses, tulips and daisies. They are a pleasant surprise when someone recieves them. They bring a happiness and bright cheerfulness wherever they are displayed. But, their beauty is short-lived. In a week or so they droop and fade and have to be thrown away.
Many of the things around us grow older and lose their usefulness. And we aren't very old before we realize how fragile and how brief our own lives are. Where do we find stability and lasting truth?
We can find it in God's unchanging Word. His Word will remain when all else fails. There will never be a time when we cannot put our total faith in His Word. That truth applies today as it did centuries ago and will apply for our children and grandchildren in years to come.
Dear friends, memorize it, meditate on it. When life seems shaky, reading God's Word renews our strength.

2 Chronicles 7 : 14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themseves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I'm talking about when black people (I'm not saying all black people, but some) Play the race card when there is Absolutely no reason to. Vivica A. Fox for example, who was once one of my favorite actors called a white cop racist when he arrested her for DUI. Let me remind you that vivica was doing 80 miles an hour when she was pulled over and smelled strongly of alcohol and her eyes were blazing red. There wasn't any real evidence of racism at all otherwise it would have been on every news channel. I'm sorry but wasn't the cop just doing his job?.... isnt vivica a racist for doing that? I don't see jesse jackson or al sharpton protesting her like they were doing don imus a few months ago. Oh beacuse only white people are racist? I don't think so! I know for a fact that there are some black people who unfairly play the race card just beacuse they hate white people and will try to get out of getting in trouble. Don't tell me no because i have them in my own famliy.

When you're in a public restroom and someone knocks on the door what are you supposed to say? Because if you say "I'm in here" it sounds stupid because they don't know who you are. And if you say "Occupied" you sound like a robot and it's embarrasing! I know this question may sound silly but i need to know!

It fascinates me how in many languages the word for 'thank' or 'gratitude' comes from a different word with a similar but different meaning. Some examples:

In English and other Germanic languages, 'thank' is related to 'think', the idea being that if you think of someone, you thank them (or maybe the other way around).

In Latin, 'gratia' had a host of meanings: grace, agreeableness, favor, and also gratitude and thanks. (This is also the origin of 'gracias' in Spanish and 'grazie' in Italian, I believe.)

In French, 'merci' is related to the English 'mercy'. (I forgot exactly how. If someone knows, please tell.)

In Hebrew, 'to thank' and 'to acknowledge/admit' are the same word (lehodot - להודות).

In Hawaiian, 'mahalo' means thanks, and also admiration.

So my question is, does anyone know of other side meanings that words for thanks or gratitude have in other languages, or can you elaborate on anything I've said above?

There are a lot of people who say that all it takes to be a Christian is to believe in Jesus, correct? Satan clearly believes in the central tenets of Christianity. He believes, for example, that Jesus, the Son of God, was sacrificed to redeem the sins of mankind--for if Satan does not believe this, why did he tempt Jesus in an effort to sabotage his divine mission? He also believes in the resurrection of Jesus, in the power of God to work miracles, and in the existence of a heaven and a hell. Satan obviously believes in Jesus ... so is Satan a Christian?

This is the last question I will ask today... Some people may be offended by this question, but that is not the purpose... From my other postings this morning you can tell

No more loaded questions, I'm all out of bullets, for now anyway :)

I wonder whether mass hallucinations occur without involvement of drugs...?

Also, for those who have read some of my other questions, do you enjoy them?

I'm about getting serious anwers as much as i am about getting a rise out of people, seems that i've been exceedingly superior at that task...

everyday, as i browse through some of the questions in this section,i feel disgusted by how insensitive and careless people can be about other people's beliefs..Look, i'm not saying that everyone are like that, but just now i saw 2 questions on the same page, comparing the Qur'an to toilet paper(for crying out loud!!), and one of those actually got 2 stars!do i even have to start abt how jesus(PBUH) or Prophet Mohd.(PBUH) are mocked etc?its not just islam or christianity, each and every religion (or lack of it) is attacked;no one is safe...Come on people, these are things that are held close to our hearts, and it hurts us more than it angers us..I understand, you may not agree with everything, or should i say anything, we believe in, but i sincerely request you to please stop this immature and childish bashing..

I am seriously asking this question. I am told this person is a 'true' christian but that person is not a 'true' christian. So can anyone define what a 'true' christian is?

Now, this needs to be said . There are over 1,000 sects (branchs) of christianity. There are the large groups like the lutherans, baptists, methodist and so on. But there are also small groups that proclaim to be christian like the branch davidians, 7th day, JW's, and so forth also proclaim to be christian. There are differences between each group. So there can't be a single code to be a christian. Thus my opinion is to be a christian all you have to do is believe in the christian god and jesus. everything else is subject to opinion of the group in question.
