2 Chronicles 7 : 14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themseves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

In general, yes. This verse speaks to God's people...Christians. If we were living for God, and not the world, then our land would have blessing and morality. There could be a snow ball effect, where things would become so much better. But as long as His people live like the world, we will continue down that slippery slope, through the wide gate.

If by we you mean the USA or its government-then there was never any love to lose-other than for power or money- All governments stand in array against Christ and His Holy Catholic Church.

This is why it was and still is so important to reunite The Church-The eastern church of the Byzantines did not and the fall of Constantinople was the price that was paid- It was the greatest and riches empire of the time and perhaps of all time-its fall was a terrible. The Popes from John XXIII until now saw it coming and have treid to do all they could to stop it.

It seems some Christians threw that baby out with the bathwater of respect for other people. Obviously, the other Christians didn't do a good job of saving the baby.

sad to say i am afraid some have weakened under pressure from the devil but there are still some of us standing on the rock of our salvation maybe we are the remnant God expects to help others to endure
