You are right, they can't give a single code of law to be a christians because they are so wide spread, they are actually more diverse than the pagan community. Some groups believe in have multiple wives, slavery, teach for to properly kill, and sacrifice things.

The first christians in the bible are at. ACTS 2:38. They asked? Men and brethren what shall we do? Peter stood with the others. Meaning all the disiples agreed. And he said- REPENT (1) Be baptised in the name of JESUS for the re-mission of sins (2) and yea shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost (3). Thats the 3 things you must do. Every Christian in the bible was baptised in JESUS name. ( Not father, son, and holy ghost. Because thier is no trinity) They all recieved the Holy Ghost as evidenced by speaking in an unknown tongue. Then follow, that spirit within you. He will led you into all truth and rightousness. Look in your concordance under baptise. Read every baptism that took place in the book of ACTS. The epistles are letters written to churches born in Acts. Don't read the churches mail unless your in the church. It will confuse you. No where else in the bible is the plan of salvation laid out. Its in ACTS. Don't believe the hype of just ask Jesus to come into your heart. Its scripture picked and choosen. Its said to a church already having the truth. And it doesn't change the doctrine of salvation. The Holy Ghost is the only spirit given in the bible to enter your heart. When this happens. You'll speak in tongues. Don't be fooled by people who baptise other wise. Jesus commanded everything be done in his name. Besides, whos blood is it. And most churches won't even use his name. As the disiples commanded.

A true Christian has met Christ and sometimes God gives a True Christian the ability to discern the heart of the people they meet, but, this information is so a True Christian knows who to go to during troubled times so a True Christian will not generally reveal this information except to those very, very close.
Christians attempt to emulate this by gossiping about it, so unless you are married to or close enough to be a sibling you won't hear a True Christian claim another is not a True Christian.
Only God knows a person's heart and a Christian only knows the heart of another if God shows it to them.
To become a Christian you have to give up everything you have and follow Christ.
Also, True Christians will not be well thought of by most people in this world, even in Church. Those who are first will be last and the last will be first.

True Christianity is the belief upon and the following of the teachings of Christ.
Denominations are a tradition of men. You are a Christian when you try to live the life prescribed -- which is essentially adherence to biblical law, the commandments of God, civil satutes, as well as love for others as well as yourself, repentance and atonement for sins and belief in the Trinity.
It's not an academic pursuit more so a decision regarding how you live your life; the most important aspect being related in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotton Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

there are many out there, I am a believer in God not religion. I think that a true believer is one from the heart, a heart opened to God, His Love and His knowledge and wisdom and strength, comfort and love, but most of all it has to be a willing heart to work for the Lord, to serve Him to the fullest, to Love Him to the fullest, and to share His love with all..Peace

to be a true christian you must have given your life fully to Jesus and been born of the spirit.
Satan believes in Jesus and God do you think he is christian. first you believe in Jesus and ask him into your life then as you get to know him better you give your life to him the denomination does not matter it is about knowing Jesus in a personal way and living for him.

I say that a true christian is someone who follows God's call from him and lives accordingly to God, and knowing that no matter what we will all be sinners, and that God offers forgiveness. I also think it constitues believing in the one true god, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as one being. Just do what God calls you to and you should be fine

I think you have a good handle on it. All the rest is support group, social interaction, transfer of responsibility or escape. In my opinion all organized religion is a business. Profitable one too. I have no objection to anyone's beliefs but I have huge objections to money making opportunists and those who try to force their concepts down others throats.

I think I'm a christian, although many other christians would say that I'm not. I think what it takes to be a christian is to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said that is the greatest commandment, and all the laws and the prophets hang on this law. Most people make it way to diffficult.
