This is the last question I will ask today... Some people may be offended by this question, but that is not the purpose... From my other postings this morning you can tell

No more loaded questions, I'm all out of bullets, for now anyway :)

I wonder whether mass hallucinations occur without involvement of drugs...?

Also, for those who have read some of my other questions, do you enjoy them?

I'm about getting serious anwers as much as i am about getting a rise out of people, seems that i've been exceedingly superior at that task...

Religion is the opiate of the masses, it acts like a drug itself. If you have ever seen a tent revival meeting, they act like drugged out maniacs. The brain can produce molecules very similar to drugs, and religion and love seem to be the best way to overdose on them. I think this can happen in anyone, including atheists. Anytime someone is swept away by love, the same brain processes are at work.

PS: Yes, I enjoy your questions!

Some people are more susceptible to suggestion than others, go to any hypnotists show for a demonstration. I'm guessing that atheists are capable of hallucinating but probably are less susceptible, after all thats part of what makes them atheists in the first place

How and what would be the mass hullucination? Are you talking about just going to church? Or are you talking about past sightings by a mass of people?
