My daughter is 18 and pregnant. She just finished high school, works a full time job and is enrolled in collage in the fall. I would like to give her a baby shower but unsure if it would be appropriate to hold it in our church hall like I had planned. I didn't think much about it until I was told by several of my husband's family members that it would be wrong (because shes not married) and they would not attend. Any thoughts?

I don't regard myself as religious or an atheist. Everyone should have the right to their own beliefs, and live however they choose. Why is it so important to preach, encourage and influence others. We are all intelligent enough to find our own morality and ethical standards (with the odd exceptions). Religion seems to have an excuse to bully, shouldn't we accept that we are all different and don't have to think in exactly the same way... silence is golden??!!

What was advertised as a "Christmas program" in a county nursing home turned out to be something else. A religious group with the belief that all souls except for 144,000 would be destroyed was using the supposed Christmas program as a means of pushing their dogma on old, sick, suffering people.

Maybe they throught that since some of the patients were close to death, they could be easily converted.

One of the nursing assistants got up to testify about how she had accepted Christ as her saviour and would not be left behind.

On the next day that same nursing assistant left a helpless patient sit directly in the sun in a room with the thermostat turned up to 86 degrees. When she was asked for assistance because the patient's face was beet red and there was sweat running down her face, the nursing assistant did not help.

We agree to taxes to be taken out of our paychecks so these sport figures will have wonderful staduiums to play in and where we can go watch. But we'd rather our neighbors and fellow americans die b/c they don't healthcare than pay a tax so they can have healthcare too? What happened to for the people by the people and what this country was founded on. Something needs to be done. This country is out of control when it comes to healthcare. What can we do? Anything? Do you think it's too late for us? Do you think it would take a revolution?

Why did “evolution” cause humans to "evolve" smooth hairless skin only so that we as humans would be forced to invent clothes to keep from dying of exposure?

If evolution was trying to improve us, it improved us in the wrong direction.

I am home today with what I belive to be a kidney stone, first and hope to be the last! been in pain since Monday evening. I told my husband it must of started coming down since last Sunday morning... we had a blast during praise and worship.

I have heard many Christians argue that Jesus did away with the old laws of Deuteronomy and Leviticus; In fact, he does the opposite "For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:18-19) should we beat our children with a rod (Prov 13:24, 20:30)? kill them if they talk back (Lev 20:9, Deut 21:18-21)? How about killing a family member if they talk about joining a different faith (Deut 13:6, 8-15)? I'm not sorry I had to take one of your arguing points away, because even though many of you claim he did away with OT law, you continue to cite from the OT.

My grandfather was admitted to the hospital this morning at 5 am Memphis,TN time. So far they are telling my family that it doesn't look good, but I am old enough to know that you have to let God's will exactly that. I am just asking for prayers please for shrenght in my faimly and best wishes for my grandfather. I am hanging in there now as opposed to earlier when I found out 2 hours ago but I love God and pray that his will and not our will be done. I truly my pops for that he is a good man!!! Just please pray us and bless that things turn around and be alright.
