I have heard many Christians argue that Jesus did away with the old laws of Deuteronomy and Leviticus; In fact, he does the opposite "For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:18-19) should we beat our children with a rod (Prov 13:24, 20:30)? kill them if they talk back (Lev 20:9, Deut 21:18-21)? How about killing a family member if they talk about joining a different faith (Deut 13:6, 8-15)? I'm not sorry I had to take one of your arguing points away, because even though many of you claim he did away with OT law, you continue to cite from the OT.

Are some of reading the same words I am? He tacitly endorses everything in the Old testament, and says that until "Kindom comes", you must follow the Old law, or you'll have a low place in heaven. You yourself are not wiser or more holy than the Pharisee or priest, so continue to follw the old law. It's plain as day!

.. How can a human ERASE the Tanakh (old testament) halachic (Jewish religious law) AFTER the death of the purported G-d incarnate? When that individual didn't mention it ONCE while he was on Earth..

I posted a similar question last night. I got an amazing and refreshing response from an organization called L'Chaim.
It seems they're busy keeping the Jubilee Law and not busy running off at their mouths. Admirable, admirable! If all of us were to do our best to do Lev 25, and Lev 26, whether born Jewish or not, this would be a much better world to live in. But that won't happen with all the prejudice and greed in the world. So I guess the ones that do it will get all the benefits, while those who do not will serve at their feet.

God wanted Israel to be a special people to Him. God made Israel an example for all of us.

Spare the rod you are going to spoil the child. Raise a rebellious child who rebels against God and rejects Jesus and God is telling you that you just better put your child to death if you raise him this way, because if you don't God will place him in eternal hell. A rebellious child is a dead in sin man walking.

If parents love their children, they will teach their children to fear the Lord and be obedient to God.

Jesus died on the cross, arose and ascended to heaven. He came to take away the sins of the world. He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us accomplish just that. And what the Holy Spirit starts in us, He is more than able to finish. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin in our life. The Holy Spirit comforts us when we desperately need it. The Holy Spirit purifies and refines because one day we will meet Christ Jesus. We are to watch and pray always that we can escape all of these horrors that are coming upon the earth and that we be accounted worthy to stand before Christ.

Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Sorry, you're in the minority. Judaism is our game. Jesus came along (actually it was Paul), changed the rules, and created Christianity -- your game.

In addition: Those laws were never meant for non-Jews. Non-Jews are bound by only the seven Noahide laws. If you believe in the trinity, you cannot be a Jew. Belief that God would become human is the ultimate heresy.

Jesus said Love the lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, also love your nieghbor as yourself. On these two things hang all the law and the prophets. He was showing that it's much simpler than a whole list of laws. Just treat other people as you want to be treated and you have obeyed the law.

Actually he say until it is accomplished or fulfilled.
Since the purpose of the Law was to offer reconciliation between Man and God, and since that purpose was accomplished or fulfilled at the cross of Calvary it would seem that your argument is moot.
