You know sunshine, it's not the scriptures that are hated. You are entitled to your your beliefs like anyone else. That is the premise that this country was colonized on, freedom of religion. The fact is, that somewhere through the years, some christians forgot that, and began to prosalize to all they thought needed to hear what the Bible had to say, whether they wanted to hear it or not. That what is hated. Not you and not your scriptures. If these christians and certain churches had their way, and were allowed to run amuck in this country, we would end up living the dark ages over again. None of us need that.

They don't get mad because you're reading them the scriptures, they get mad because you're self-righteously shoving your OPINIONS down their throat. Maybe gays and atheists simply don't give a damn what the scriptures say, ever consider that?

How would you like it if I reminded you what it says in chapter 4, paragraph 12, sentence 3 of Moby Dick? What, you don't like stories about big fish? But Moby Dick is the scripture, don't you care what the scripture says?

Moby Dick is the word of god almighty and if you don't listen to me you're going straight to HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Or maybe I'm just wrong about Moby Dick like you're wrong about the bible.

I am not sure if I am right or not. And I won't try to make myself right! But, I will speak of how I see things through my eyes! Gay people are trying to find support for the things they want in life, their beliefs that being gay isn't wrong. Whether it is in the Bible or not, it is what they want to do-period! Whether or not they are Christians, some know what it says, and just rebel against the truth!
Atheists, to me, seem not to care one way or another what the Bible says. Until something is proven to be a 'fact', and they 'see' it for themselves, they want no part of it!
Closed eyes, and hearts won't get people any where near the truth! And the proof they are asking for, won't happen as easily as they want it to!
Sorry for being blunt, and honest. I hope that is what you are asking for, anyway!

I don't think this is a fair question. I don't think it's the scriptures that upset gays or atheists. I think anyone who gets mad is simply sick of seeing and hearing things they don't believe in. I know...why do they bother to respond then?....Everyone seems to like to argue and fight.

Christians get pretty mad when I remind them of the bits they would rather forget. Of which there are LOADS.

And I think gays just hate Christian bigots who through the years have burned them at the stake just for being born (hence the term f a g got which means piece of wood for burning) - way to go Christians, I'm convinced its a religion of love. NOT.

No JesusFan, its you trolling for a reaction when you get told how arrogant your behavior is over and over and over again. I don't hate the scriptures, they're just words. And the bible is just a book. But the behavior of people like you.... thats another matter.

You are one of the most hateful, angry, and rude people I've ever had the misfortune of coming across.

I don't care about the scriptures what makes me mad is when people use them to answer questions you have a mind use it.

Atheists don't hate the scriptures any more than we hate Aesop's fables.
What we DO hate however, is people trying to justify their hatred and bigotry because a book of bronze-age mythology says it's ok.

Maybe because they have good reason. There are fanatics out there who twist things up for their own aims and then persecute gays and Atheists. The biggest crime is that they do it in the name of God! Remember: Religion is man-made and often has little or nothing to do with God.
