I am a non-muslim. But from what I have read and understood so far, jihad means to wage a war against evil forces. The evil forces should mean hunger, ignorance, exploitation, etc and not people who do not follow Islam or believe in some other religion or do not believe in existence of God. You see things have got corrupted so much because the spirit of questioning and weighing the answers through common sense has been lacking in followers. This is true of followers of all religions. No body questions the priest in the temple or the pastor in the church or the moulvi in the mosque. These bunch of people also have a tendency to denounce a person as soon as he questions. In this way religions are doing more harm than good to people and this planet.

No, it isn't racism. anyone can convert to Islam, regardless of color or national origin. The purpose of Jihad, is the expansion of the Islamic state first throughout the middle-east, until the 21 moderate muslin countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait and the 52 smaller Muslim states are all put back into one empire that would resemble the ottoman empire that ended in first part of the 1900's. Once all of these nations are under one cleric, such as Khomeini with 40% of the world oil production and the neclear wepons of Pakistane, they will finish off India, Africa, and go after what is left of Eroupe. Most of the UK, France, and Spain are already lost. finaly they will trun west, then maybe America will wake up.

Jihad's time is over . All the verses related to what you called "Jihad" were revealed to muhammad at the time he was in Medina since unbelievers had sacked their homes n their city . If you read the chapters which were revealed to him when he was in the city Mecca (during 13 years) you'd find out they're different . But some misled sects are misusig these verses to justify their dirty crimes .

BTW , "Anthony M" is quoting outta the context . My dear friend do not copy/paste everything you read in anti-islamic web sites . Please .

Please Read :
GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors. ( Koran-60:9 )

Can this be called racism (?) :

O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant. (Koran-49:13)

And for more information :

(3:20) (6:108) (9:6) (11:115) (15:85) (18:29) (23:96) (25:63) (41:34) (43:83) (60:7) (73:10) (109:1-6) ...

God bless you all.

Their Scritpures demand war against non-Muslims. Also the passages n the Qu'ran that teach peace and tolerance have been abrogated by later verses teaching war and terror.

Some of those passages from the Qu'ran are:

Qu'ran approves of terrorism
sura 2:193 Fight the infidels until they accept Islam.
sura 2:191 Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them
sura 9:123 Make war on the infidels living in your neighbourhood.
sura 9:5 When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them.
sura 9:29 Kill the Jews and the Christians if they do not convert to Islam or refuse to pay Jizya tax.
sura 3:85 Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable.
sura 9:30 The Jews and the Christians are perverts; fight them.
sura 5:33 Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticise Islam.
sura 9:28 The infidels are unclean; do not let them into a mosque.
sura 9:73 Be harsh with the unbelievers.
sura 22:19 Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.
sura 25:52 Fight the unbelievers vigorously without any exception.
sura 47:4 Do not hanker for peace with the infidels; behead them when you catch them.
sura 8:65 The unbelievers are stupid; urge the Muslims to fight them.
sura 3:28 Muslims must not take the infidels as friends.
sura 8:12 Terrorise and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur’an.
sura 8:60 Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorise the infidels.

Until Moderate Muslims can convince Radical Muslims that these passages do not mean what they clearly say Islam may be considered by some to be dangerous.

The passages I mention are only SOME of the violent passages. The Radicals quote these and many more passages and CLAIM to be the TRUE Muslims.

The end of the Qu'ran does not say "Now live in Peace." In fact because Muhammed is the PERFECT example of a Muslim anything he did is good for any other Muslim to do also.

In fact it would be a crime for a Muslim to say Muhammed did ANYTHING wrong, ever.

Muslims are commanded to following the example of the prophet. He quoted the violent passages I mentioned. I did not make these up.

I ask the Moderate Muslims what passage in the Qu'ran says "the Jihad time is over?"

The violent passages were written AFTER the peacful passages. By tradition this means the violent passages are more official than the earlier passages. For example the violent passages found in sura 9 were not the 9th group written but the next to last. It is called sura 9 because the Qu'ran is organized by length of the chapters or sura. So sura 9 is the 9th longest not the ninth written. Only passages from sura 110 can change what is found in sura 9.

Jihad means "to strive or struggle," and is considered the "sixth pillar of Islam" by a minority of Muslim authorities.

Jihad refers to one's striving to attain religious and moral perfection.

Then why is there the "greater jihad", which pertains to spiritual self-perfection, and the "lesser jihad", defined as warfare?

Jihad, the only form of warfare permissible in Islamic law, may be declared against non-Muslims who refuse to convert to Islam or submit to Islamic rule.
