your asking the impossible perhaps? I do not think Christmas will ever stop being commercialized that's just the way it is...I am 50 years old and it's been going on ever since I can remember.
As long as we hold the true meaning in our hearts that is something no one can take away from us.
We all know what the true meaning is,it's not that we don't, but perhaps some just do not show it in ways that others think they should.

I feel that Christmas is being over commercialized & that people have forgotten about the true meaning. Christmas is about the birth of our savior, but it is also about the magic it holds for a child. Can't you remember being a kid & waiting for Santa? I can remember. I watch my own 2 kids at Christmas time. And yes I have taught my kids about Jesus, but they have the magic of Santa Claus too.

It will stop when people stop buying and get back to the true meaning. Most of the people who are spending thousands don't even go to church on a regular basis or educate their children in the true meaning of Christmas.

Never as long as the public falls for all the hype and gross commercialism. Is your kid going to be content with a homemade sweater and some potpourri when his friend gets an Iphone?

In our home we have birthday cake for Christmas. And the gifts we exchange with each other are ones we make. True gifts should come from the heart not the store or internet.

First-research the history of Christmas..learn where the symbols came from, etc. EX: it was originally BANNED in America!!! It has NOTHING to do with Christ's birth..EX: he wasn't in a manger when the "wise men" found him..he was living in a house, almost TWO years old, & Joseph, with Jesus & Mary, were warned to flee into Egypt, as King Herod was determined to put Christ to death (read the account--he had ALL male babies, up to two years old, murdered...) PLEASE research this. Read the accounts in Matthew, Mark,Luke & John.
