We went to a new(for us) restaurant(his boss suggested it, he eats there all the time). My boyfriend said he didn't know the boss would be there with his wife. They did not join us for dinner, but invited us for after dinner drinks. They picked up the tab. I say my man still owes me my birthday dinner or is it thought that counts. By the way, finances are not an issue and we hardly eat out(2 in the last 3 mos.) How do I bring it up?

If God is good, then He is not evil. If God is not evil, then where did evil come from, if everything in existence came first from God in Creation? Is evil something that God, Himself, did not invent? If so, then is it true to say that God is the ultimate Creator when evil was created by something/one else? If God created evil, then doesn't the concept of evil have to exist somewhere in Him? So is it true to say that God is also evil as well as good? Wouldn't God have to be prefectly nuetral? Otherwise, wouldn't He Himself, tip the scales of balance to good? And can there exist good without evil to define it? Can there exist up without down, left without right, right without wrong?

Please explain. Give details. You may even quote the Bible if you have to. This is a philisophical question and not one of Faith so please, no blanket answers of "cause he can". Thanks.

From my experience, if a question is asked that is over the heads of some, they are quick to regard the question as a sign of the asker's ignorance rather than their own. Does anyone else find this to be accurate?

I don't sit around every Christmas and wait for Santa to show up at the mall and harrangue him. So why do Athiests do it to God?

Du stehst auf und kriegst gesagt wohin du gehen sollst
Wenn du da bist hörst du auch noch was du denken sollst
Danke das war mal wieder echt'n geiler tag
Du sagst nichts und keiner fragt dich: sag mal willst du das

Nein - nein - nein - nananana nein
Nein - nein - nein - nananana nein

Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst!
Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst - Schrei!

Pass auf - rattenfänger lauern überall
Verfolgen dich und greifen nach dir aus'm hinterhalt
Versprechen dir alles wovon du nie geträumt hast
Und irgendwann ist es zu spät und dann brauchst du das

Nein - nein - nein - nananana nein
Nein - nein - nein - nananana nein

Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst!
Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst - Schrei!

Zurück zum nullpunkt - jetzt kommt eure zeit
Lasst sie wissen wer ihr wirklich seid

Schrei - Schrei - Schrei - Schrei- Jetzt ist unsere zeit ...

Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst!
Schrei! - Bist du du selbst bist
Schrei! - Und wenn es das letzte ist
Schrei! - Auch wenn es weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst - Schrei!

Und jetzt schweig!

Nein! - Weil du selbst bist
Nein! - Und weil es das letzte ist
Nein! - Weil es so weh tut
Schrei so laut du kannst
Nein! - Nein! - Nein! - Nein! - Nein! - Nein!
Schrei so laut du kannst - Schrei!

with all the contradictions and different answers to the same questions and lack of intelligent answers to the tough questions, not to mention lack of proof (and trying to pass silly things off as proof - like rainbows and bananas) you aren't giving atheists good reasons to convert, in fact you're doing the opposite, you're proving their case for them!

you can't convert them by saying you'll go to heaven for believing or hell for not, because you need to get them to believe in those things first.

i'm wondering if the christians would do a better job converting people by not trying to convert them in the first place. your thoughts?

p.s. i'm not against christianity, and i'm not atheist, i'm just trying to point something out.

I am not sure if God and satan truely exists, but with all of the horror that has been brought on the world by christianity in the past-crusades, inquisitions etc. and in the present-money laundering, child molestation etc. Sometimes i get the feeling that christians are really under the influence of a darker power and maybe God is really what satan is portrayed as-evil.
What do you think?

Many atheists will tell you that education has led them to their decision that there are no gods. Some will also say that their experiences (or, possibly, a lack thereof) contributed to their decision.

Many believers will tell you that their experiencing their god(s) first-hand is why they believe as they do. Some will also argue that their education helps reinforce their belief.

Which is more important, any why?

I'm in a heck of a good mood this warm morning, with a nice, heavy shower predicted and a quick jaunt to my doctor's office where I was told all was well. Hey, I'm 71 but I ain't dead yet, I'm still a working professional Shakespearean actor--by 'professional,' dear hearts, I mean I get paid big bucks, which I'll be needing big-time as my youngest of five grandchildren speeds toward college age: it's Yale for him. Well, that's babble. What I want to ask my fellow unbelievers is this: are you feeling, as I am, that the fundies and other fearful, sad religious folk are nearing their last hurrah, their last shouts and stomps? I do. There's something in the "air," if you will, which is telling me that, though Christianity has a couple hundred years left, the rawbone fundamentalists and their cherrypicking of the Bible will be finding the church door padlocked pretty darn soon--in maybe no more than a generation. There's no reason at all for us to feel sorry for them.

You Christians are ALL OVER the board on if the Bible is true or not. sometimes it's this part is but this part isn't. Or thats what NOT to do but live by the word of God. Eve came from Adams rib. Cain married his sister but thats OK. The OT is not right read the NT, then you'll quote from the OT...and so on and so on.

You people really need to get your story straight. The Atheist don't even have a book and they are all consistent.

How old were you when you were converted, and what convinced you since there wasn't a shred of evidence available to support the claims that there is a god (bearing in mind that God doesn't offer proof because he wants us to take it on faith alone)?

I just read a question which seemed to suggest that Wicca has become a specific path, a formalized or formula type of witchcraft. Is there an actual organization named Wicca? Should I stop using it as a generic term, or start paying dues to a membership organization?

First I will say I Have a Belief in God and a after life. But why do people always blame their weaknesses on Satan. I think humans all have weaknesses but it 'they aren't made to do these things from satan. Everybody has faults and are drawn in by temptetion but how come some people can't accept the fact they messed up instead of blaming it on satan?

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

im still cracking up at this one dude that answered my q. he said that racial stereotypes werent racist at all they are "based on intelligent thought and observation" and then he went on to say thatpeople only use stereotypes because "A LARGE PORTION OF THAT GROUP OF PPL ACTUALLY HAVE THOSE TRAITS". i cant stop laughing. its a bitter sweet moment....

oh yes because of course a person who stereotypes has met "A LARGE PORTION" of that group of people even though there are billions of people around the world....and what he sees on television MUST be an accurate representation...therefore he can totally accurately blanket a certain race with certain characteristics .....

are you ******** serious?! lol its funny because only on this website would i hear such bullshit. where the hell do these people come from? ignorance is bliss i guess...carry on.

it's so sad what muslims are facing everyday from wrongful accusations, to insults, to unfair employment in foreign countries because of wearing a headscarf or so....... but the worst is that this image is being deformed by muslims themselves.....when alqaeda and other terrorist group members publically declare that they are following the quran by killing innocent civilians!!!! and also muslims who are hostile against nonmuslims....
we all agree that this ain't related to islam by any means....but how can we change it.......
I'm sure all of you who log in here to answer questions about islam have a huge love for this religon....so let's think together of ideas that can help change this stereotypical false image of islam......something big, global that can have a social peaceful impact and may change some opinions.....let's hope and pray god blesses us with this honour
