My husband and I bought our house about 6 1/2 months ago and have been working on it ever since we moved in. We have been so busy these last few months we haven't had a chance to have a housewarming party. We would like to throw one and show off our home. Is it too late? Thanks!

How can you put anything above your family. Even if god was real he isn't your family he didn't carry you for 9 months he has never carried you. This is beyond belief it is unhealthy to put things before your parents or husband/wife or even your children. The question is why would you put something over the people that protected you raised you feed you clothed you and everything else you needed and you put a thing that hasn't done anything in front of them. How could you and why would you?

It was clearly believed that Jesus went to heaven in bodily form and now religions are trying to teach that he went in spirit form. The diciples were suppose to walk him up the hill so how do they all walk his spirit up the hill and he proved he was Jesus by showing the nail holes in his hands. How come people believe in the diciples when they didnt believe in Jesus cause instead of waiting for his resurection they went fishing?

I got some GREAT answers... from sean, clo, Missunderstood...many many others.... however one of the users said this and I quote:

If you truly want to seek enlightening answers, ask thought-provoking questions of yourself--you dont have the right to provoke others to think--that's God's job. Leave people alone, work on yourself.

So I am not allowed to ask thoughtful questions and that is only God's job? I, as a believer in God, am baffled by that response.
I rest my case.

Nothing is there and then out of nothing at all, some atom comes up and creates itslelf and makes a Big Bang and then after a long time... Out of the atom that came out of nowhere comes a human being whose body is so complicated...

Sounds idiotic and stupid, doesn't it???

Well, that's what some people believe...

Answer this:

1) Where did an atom come from that started the Big Bang???

2) Where did the atom before that atom come from???

You do realise that there was time when there were no atoms so what happened... Something to with Allah/God maybe...

Every month I get a new illness. I try to be accepting of these things, but I feel I am wearing down. Does anyone have something uplifting to say. Please don't preach to me. Just "talk" to me. Thank you.

the statement may not be technically accurate, but I sit back and see a similarity. maybe because Religion has a role in politics, but on here (GENERALLY) no matter what a Christian says they are wrong to atheists and others and no matter what an atheist says they are wrong to Christians and others EXCEPT on them rare occasions.

I'm not criticizing, belittling, or being disrespectful to any group but does anyone else see similarities of the sort?

My daughter was recently hospitalized from an accident. She now needs special treatments not covered by insurance. Therefore, my church was generous enough to take up a special offering to help with the expenses. I have tried writing thank-yous, but when i read them, they don't sound appropriate enough or elaborate enough. Please help.

Ok, this is getting annoying.

If you are an Atheist and ask some insightful question and pose it in a kind way, you get "You're going to hell!"

And if you're Christian and ask some insightful question, you get: "There is no god"

Both totally ignore the question.

Why?

Please look at a map. Every one is saying that Jesus was not an Arab he was a Jew. Am I missing somethinghere or what? That is like saying I am a Zimbabwean not an African. Right? Were the Jews the only race from Judea? I doubt it.
Judaens were arabs,
Thus Jews were arabs,
Thus Jesus was an Arab!?
Or what?
Look at a map and tell me I am wrong. Anthropologically one cannot change genetic race by simply living 200miles away. The Arab influence runs 1000s of miles into even into Africa. But the Judaens wern't Arab?! That is a little hard to beleive.

I am a native English speaker. I have several years of training in Spanish. I can read and write it but don't actually speak it (because I am chicken). I also have a little knowledge of Japanese (very limited but I know the basics). I know a tiny bit of Farsi and a tiny bit of French.

I don't want to continue with Japanese because the speech is too fast and my ears don't hear that fast. :) I don't want to continue with the French.

I would like to learn something that I could use to do translation and make some extra money. Would Arabic be a good choice?

I'll be using a program I purchase online to get started, such as Rosetta Stone or Before You Know It.

If you tell them you are trying to help them see a better way they just freak out, yet they go door to door doing the same thing.

Is this Ironic to you that they want you to listen to them but the don't have any time to listen to you? And I mean really listen with an open mind.

I am only asking as my local council have had a 1920's church pulled down in a park where the scouts and cubs go camping as they do not want to offend the non-christians that are now members of scouts and cubs. I know several non-christians who are not offended so surely all this nonsense is making relationships between different cultures and religions worse. They have now offended all the christians by doing it.
