Whenever I am online, I leave my messenger on . Sometimes people on my list IM me and want to talk to me, usually when I am in the middle of doing something, like writing an email or reading something on the Internet. As a result of that, I might be a little slow in responding or I might be a little quiet and do not say much. People would get upset because I do not give them my full attention. I don't get it. I mean they initiate the talk when I am busy with stuff and I am being nice to talk to them. I do not get mad even then they disturb me like that. Do they have the right to be upset?

that God exists, then why are believers so keen on converting others! there is absolutely no proof of any of it!
and is there a created religion because you are afarid to lose that little spark of that theory???
it is very unsettling to me that you feel the need to instill pain, fear and suffering unto others just to make them believe in a theory!

I would understand the need to educate how to properly cross a road so you don't get killed ! but to convert someone just on the basis of a big fat MAYBE that isn't right!

what motivates you to try and swing another person towards your believes and your God????

what are you trying to improve in another person, if they are a good person to begin with????

certainly you can't say that pride is always a bad thing. is it wrong to be proud of your children or anything else you love? of course there is a certain level with being proud of one's self too much to the point of vanity. so why do you suppose the bible doesn't list vanity as being a deadly sin and not pride? there's nothing wrong with a little pride, is there?

Praise the Lord that Lina Joy has found Christ. It was a wondrous day when that happened and her eternal salvation is ensured. But the earthly entity that governs Malaysia has determined that from a legal standpoint, she is and will always be Islamic unless she is officially declared an apostate (which isn't a good thing in an Islamic society).

I notice that a number of organizations and countries have protested the Lina Joy ruling and I wonder why any other country should have a say in how Malaysia makes these determinations. I know as a right thinking American, I'd feel pretty upset if some other country tried to tell us how we had to do something.

If it is right that other countries can tell Malaysia how to identify its people as far as religion is concerned, then would we have the right to enforce Lina Joy's rights via military intervention and economic sanctions?

Well if i forced you to shoot someone in the face, if i forced you to physically and there was no possiblity of not doing it, should you be punished or held responsible for it, NO! So people who may be hindu intend to love god and believe they have seeked him, they have fully intended to accept god, yet apparently they go to hell for "rejecting" jesus which they obviously did not intend to do, so for the bad they happened to commit out of intending good, are they let to suffer in hell by a "loving" god? No! You lot know nothing about anything, life after death is far more complicated than morales, right, wrong, bible promises and the idea of pain. We know nothing, when we die, it's not like a hall where people wait to be judged, there are no "rights" or "wrongs" or morals.

If your like me then you think Religion is a plague on this earth and the single most detrimental quality of mankind. However should we be out there pushing reason on the world when they clearly don't want to hear about it? I think we'd be doing the world a service but it may create so much animosity towards atheism that people stop listening. Should we be like the cool mysterious belief simply leading by example and getting people to wonder "wow that guy is beholden to nobody and is content in his atheism, maybe he is onto something." Or should we be totally silent for perhaps the world is not ready to do away with god. How do you think we should handle non-non-believers? And do we really care if they hate us?

I've only read the KJV, alas, and what I like "best" about it is the lively dance with "Elizabethan" English. The rub there is that more than one writer put his pen to work on it. I read somewhere recently that even Will Shakespeare made a buck or two during the relatively short time of the "interpretation," or whatever. A lot of it is really pretty writing, which no doubt is why it's held in such high-esteem by Protestants in the USA. Too bad for them that the English language in play in nancy-boy James's version (that's uncalled for; I apologize) was no more than a half-century in use--almost 1400 years after events in the NT were claimed to have taken place. Other aspects of both the Old and the New Testament are a mismash of myth, legend, oral history, ignorance, guessing, outright lies, and absurdities. Hey, my fundie pals, no matter how you slice it, snakes do not talk. Etc., etc., etc.

I mean maybe WE as people are more in tune with what's around us than what we may believe & the people who are more highly aware of their surroundings actually have opened their minds to the point that they believe anything is possible regarding the spiritual.

WEB DuBois wrote about it over one hundred years ago. The "double conciousness" of Black people. 100 years later Black people are still schizophrenic; still living to in two worlds at once; still having to say things like "I act one way around white people and another way around black people."

I know this does not apply to all of us. But if you have two personalities one of them needs to go. Dont you think?

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

"Let US make man in OUR image according to OUR likeness."(Genesis 26)

God speaks of himself in the plural sense making it seem like there are more than one of him and yet most claim there is only one. Why would a single entity refer to himself in the plural sense? Or how could multiple entities be viewed as one entity?

Do you attend morning prayer? or do you wake up earlier to simply pray and worship?
I am looking into staring a morning prayer and worship once a week in my home for the woman close to me, together we can pray for the men and our finances and simply to seek the presence of God before our hectic day begins. I have never opened a family group, but God put this in my heart. Please tell me in what order or basically how morning prayer is done in your church or family group. I have an idea, open with worship, pray for each others needs, then give a scripture in relation to our needs... Advise please!! thanks in advance.

Haven't read the book, but watched his 2 part documentary on the telly. Hardly compelling stuff, mostly it was a preaching-to- the-converted speil. He interviewed a bunch of religious extremists and made out as if that represented all theists, and when he came across a moderate with an intelligent argument, they got about two lines in and it was over-dubbed with his voiceover ! The hate he has for religion was plain to see; he'd pull this snarly face whenever the religious extremists were being, er, extreme. It was quite amusing. Except for the extremist Muslim, he was sh*t scared of him(I was a little frightened myself). Well, I guess the atheists do need a "Fundie" of their very own. Did you see it ? What did you think ?
