I have been hanging out with a new person and some of his friends. Turns out they don't believe in God and are quite set with being an athiest. I'm not the type to preach to people as I don't like to push people to believe something they don't want to, but I don't accept their ways by any means.
Any suggestions on how to approach this issue? I'm not changing my faith, I love God far to much to let somebody get the best of me.
Everytime I walk in their apartment they say Here comes the Christian and try to battle it out with me. Technically it's one guy primarily and I've tried ignoring it but I'm starting to get ninety questions thrown at me the minute I walk in the door. What should I do about this? Sink down to that level and argue it out or keep ignorning it.

He makes the world according to scripture then drowns it afterwards with a flood, then repenting that he had done so. If one really questions the bible with an open heart one could see that Man has made God in his image and not the other way around.

stick the word "LOSER" on his forehead while he tans in the sun completely asleep and snoring? The outline of loser will fade away with his tan/burn after a few days so no real harm done. And what about some suger to sprinkle on him too. maybe the ants crawling on him to eat the sugar will make him put some clothes on next time, or at least some shorts so we don't have to see his naked naughties next time.

I was the kid in the corner, wore all black and either a big winter hat to hide behind, or kept my hair in my face, and was always drawing. I never talked unless something p*ssed me off and then suddenly I'd become a loud mouth, and hid in the bathroom at lunchtime. I never had more than one or two close friends, and they were usually the exact opposite of me.

You?

My personal favorite is the Anima Christi as follows:

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ's side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels
Forever and ever
Amen

Why do so many people come in hear just to say something bad about another religion or bang Christians? I though there would actually be some mature people in hear that actually wanted to know something. But all I've found was "why are you so stupid?", "why do you believe in something that so not exist?", and "Evolution is the way you, why are you so dumb?"

Why can't people ask questions like "I always wondered why atheist don't believe in God, what’s your reason?" or "What do you believe in?" and stay away from all the negativity, calling names, and saying that the only person that is right is me me me?

Please tell me why People feel they have to make fun of other people’s religions. Thanks

The more I read "replies" here by fundies and Christian sheep who sit back and say zip in the wake of fundie nonsense, the more I feel moved to stop speaking to fundies as if they were adults and/or not altogether loco, and shouting them down with a measure of glee. Have you taken a similar path?

Christians knock on my door on a weekly basis trying to give me pamphlets, come into my home and "talk", and to also ask me ridiculous questions such as "Do you believe there are evil forces in the world?" I find this to be highly offensive and rude! I am a die hard Athiest , and if I were to go to their home's knock on their door and preach that I feel that their belief structure is not only inhibiting but also laughable...well I might be arrested for harrasment. It is clear to me that the only way to stop this is a " No Religious Solicitation" sign on the front door. What is your opinion on the matter?

Why are some atheists so quick to defend Islam? Is it because you have been brainwashed by this idea of "multiculturalism" and political correctness? Why do you feel that you can criticize Christianity openly but you defend Islam? Afterall, they both claim to be Abrahamic religions. How many more times do Muslims have to state that they will kill or convert all infidels? Do Muslims seem so tactful to you when they say that their goal is to dominate the world? Or did they really not mean that... was it just the "few" extremists? Do you automatically just believe in the opposite of whatever the media tells you... ? Oh, they say Muslims are terrorists, so they must be peaceloving. Christians say Muslims are evil, so they must be friendly and tolerant of atheists. I just DON'T get it.

First, I was disillusioned with religions... now I am starting to become disillusioned with atheists.

1) A person who helps others as a matter of course, gets involved with charity, lives what you would call a 'good christian life' and is consciously not a christian

2) A christian who attends church, prays when he should, acknowledges Christ, yet doesn't help those around him, gambles occasionally and drinks to excess once a week

3) A person who has led a life of crime and murder who on his death-bed asks Jesus for forgiveness

4) A person who has no awareness of christianity, God, or any religion, but lives what you'd consider a 'good life'

Read their postings regarding pessimism, moral decay and their general attitude on the state of the world. It is very depressing and quite creepy. Most are all doom and gloom. They for some reason, do not want to look at the beauty of God's creation in the world, but want to focus on man's failures in the world....they have their sight on man, not on God.

These people say they are Christians, but where is the joy that is supposed to be exuding from them?

From their postings, it appears that most are very depressed individuals...could fundies, possibly be in need of psychological counseling?

If they truly valued human life, wouldn't they have a more positive outlook on it?

If the world is truly as bad as they say it is, why do they claim to be pro-life? Wouldn't the child be better off in heaven?

I am truly perplexed by the negative/bad attitudes of these people? Are they truly Christians at all?

Your thoughts?

Hello all! I pray that you are doing well today. Today I would like to touch on the subject of anger. This is something that I have personally struggled with having grown up in a "angry" household. Which is something that a lot of us deal with. My friends, how easy it is to get angry with those people that oppose us, the mockers, the unbelievers!! But, we mustn't. Brothers and sisters let me remind you what it says in the book of James:
You must be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry. For human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20
When we get angry and argumentative others do not see Jesus in us, they see the stereotypical, hypocritical Christian, and this does nothing to bring others to Christ.
If you claim to be religious, but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself and your religion is worthless. James 1:26
Do you see friends? When we don't control ourselves, we are fooling ourselves!!
