Hello all! I pray that you are doing well today. Today I would like to touch on the subject of anger. This is something that I have personally struggled with having grown up in a "angry" household. Which is something that a lot of us deal with. My friends, how easy it is to get angry with those people that oppose us, the mockers, the unbelievers!! But, we mustn't. Brothers and sisters let me remind you what it says in the book of James:
You must be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry. For human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20
When we get angry and argumentative others do not see Jesus in us, they see the stereotypical, hypocritical Christian, and this does nothing to bring others to Christ.
If you claim to be religious, but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself and your religion is worthless. James 1:26
Do you see friends? When we don't control ourselves, we are fooling ourselves!!

And friends, this was a wakeup call for me. I hope that it has given you some food for thought, also. We must pray for each other and keep in other strong in Christ and His Word so that we can be effective. Feel free to e-mail me with prayer requests or just to chat, if you wish. I love you all, Cat

I got angry at my girlfriend's dogs because they had diarrhea all over the house(Go ahead and look up my question about it, if you like). Then my girlfriend got home and got mad at me because I had given them ice cream the day before and apparently this was the cause of the dogs having diarrhea. The dogs were mad at me because I had locked them outside when they started to mess all over. Yes, you could say there was plenty of anger in the house last night....

Thank you for sharing. And thank you for your efforts.

In addition, Proverbs 15:1-2 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. 2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Proverbs 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Good words to live by,

I agree....The texts that you have presented deal with "Human" anger rather than righteous indignation, such as Jesus using the scourge in the temple,or the APostle Paul condening for the faith on Mars hill........It is easy to get sucked into the "human" element if we are defending ourselves rather than the gospel.

Good presentation!!! You are an encouragement.

Good morning Cat, I agree with what you have said. Respectfully, I really think you should include a question along with your comments since that is what this forum is about.

True. Christ-ian. The "ian" means to resemble or to look like. When we act in love, we are being true Christians. "Christ-like". Thank you. Praise God!
