I have been hanging out with a new person and some of his friends. Turns out they don't believe in God and are quite set with being an athiest. I'm not the type to preach to people as I don't like to push people to believe something they don't want to, but I don't accept their ways by any means.
Any suggestions on how to approach this issue? I'm not changing my faith, I love God far to much to let somebody get the best of me.
Everytime I walk in their apartment they say Here comes the Christian and try to battle it out with me. Technically it's one guy primarily and I've tried ignoring it but I'm starting to get ninety questions thrown at me the minute I walk in the door. What should I do about this? Sink down to that level and argue it out or keep ignorning it.

Well simply tell him he is being a hypocrite because he seems like he is being the preachy one. tell him live and let live. As long as you don't force it on them, why are they trying to force Atheism on you.

What I would do is try to find a point in which your belief is more logical than theirs. Sometimes, to stand up for my belief in a theistic beginning to the universe, I point out the idea that, under careful philosophical examination, an infinite past to the universe (a common point in all atheistic past-of-the-universe theories that I know of) defies common sense (VERY long story), in addition to the fact that nothing can happen without a reason (example: someone is mad because someone else insulted them, swords were invented because of a combination of necessity for more advanced weaponry and human ingenuity, someone thinks something that no one else thinks because of some complicated brain chemistry thing that I don't know about). I found all of the atheistic defenses given to me to be questionable at best, though I haven't stopped asking the atheistic community to come up with a counterargument, for ceasing to do so would prove my ignorance, and would be hypocritical on my part.

It seems like you may be suffering from the Can't Understand Normal Thinking disorder that strikes fundagelicals.

I don't condone these people bugging you everytime you come into the room. On the other hand, they are just doing what fundagelicals do to those who don't believe their claim to possess THE truth. That certainly doesn't make it right.

However, where your Can't Understand Normal Thinking disorder appears is when you say you "don't accept their ways by any means." So why for chrissakes are you hanging out with them?

The point is that you want to STAY in a hostile atmosphere because in your heart of hearts you are just dying to "bring them to Jesus". Nobody is asking you to give up your faith ... just engage you brain and avoid the fundagelical Can't Understand Normal Thinking syndrome. Find other more amenable friends.

Confront them with all the love that you can muster up in your heart. Stand firm and strong. Do not let them rattle you. Remember, "He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world." Christ never leaves us or forsakes us and the Holy Spirit will bring to your remembrance what needs to be said.

However, if you are a baby Christian this will be hard. A mature Christian can handle them. Know the Word of God. It is your weapon. You are warring against the spirit of the antichrist in this world. It is being promoted and the horses are getting ready to carry their evil riders. The world is in preparation by the wickedness and lawlessness abounding.

If these new friends reject Jesus, then brush off your feet and separate yourself from them. But you must try to snatch them from the fires of hell, but if they reject Jesus then leave them alone. You should not be linked with unbelievers. It will do you no good. It is possible that God will allow you to plant a seed within them. Pray and ask for this. I've prayed for you.

i'm an atheist because of the fact i do no longer think in gods. What could data of a god no longer modern-day look like? could it possibly look like: actually no data that they do? The universe giving each and every indication of being a organic prevalence? Prayers no longer being replied and authentic believers ravenous to dying? ailment, parasites which feed on human eyeballs modern-day? distinctive cultures having distinctive gods which proportion their values particularly than the comparable god being stumbled on by capacity of folk in each and every single place as occurs with issues which do exist? particularly some the worlds species having long gone extinct? Asteroids, organic disaster, intense drought, famine, flood hitting earth and destroying existence? people having greater from different existence varieties which no god ever has mentioned? No god ever understanding issues the individuals did no longer understand and getting particularly some stuff incorrect? some gods being witnessed being invented - see shipment cults?

Don't argue with them; thats exactly what they want. It seems like everyone tries to prove that Christians are these Bible-beaters who beat you in the head with their beliefs and that is so not true! We just see how good God is and just want to show others how much better their life would be with God. Even though its tough, just love them and be a living example of God's grace and love. Eventually you should gain his respect, and then hopefully God will start working on his heart.

You don't have to get argumentative with him. Ask him if he wants to have a real discussion. If yes, try to keep level headed. If he asks something you can't answer just say something like, I'm not sure about that but I will try to find out. Then do some research and get back to him.

If it turns out he doesn't want a serious discussion but just wants to be insulting, then ignoring will pay off. Soon he will tire of it and move on to something else.

Remember this if nothing else: God says in His word that 'we' (Christians') are persecuted for His name's sake and we have to endure that until Christ returns on the day of judgment. Then, it'll be a rude awakening to those who deny Christ and are in disbelief. Just ignore it as Christ would want us to do. Arguing it out will solve and accomplish nothing. The only thing arguing will do is make matters worse than they are. Don't argue with them - pray for them.

Argue in a respectful way, or stop hanging out with them. If you ignore this guy you're only making him feel more right, when really he's wrong. What are the questions?

Ask them why they feel it's such a big deal - either talk it out with them, explain why you think what you think and let them accept it, or not accept it. If they don't then I don't know, can't you just ask them why it's such a problem anyway? After all I know it's part of you but it doesn't necessarily define who you are. And I bet if you were Muslim they would say "here comes the muslim" every time you walked into a room. They might i suppose.

Just don't let them tell you you're wrong, but don;t worry about it either.

If you were not wearing your religion on your sleeve, they would have never known that you were religious in the first place.

Quit playing the victim, you went into an atheists house and started up your sky pixie stories, in their house.

I'm surprised they let you come back.

Stay with your own kind if you don't want anyone tearing apart your fictional world.
