There's my first question of the day and it basically asked why one God would refer to himself in the plural sense. Most people answered that it was referring to the holy trinity, the father son and holy ghost. However the quotes I used come before the birth of Jesus (son) and his death (holy ghost) in Genesis of the old testemant. The trinity didn't exist until the new testament so how could that be an answer to the question?

Is it not our own vanity that we convine ourselves we are right?
People that think they know God can only describe him as things they know (the stars, the moon, the universe) We see pictures, but the truth is that we don't even know what our universe looks like! We think we know, we speculate.

Secondly science may tell us things happen, but why do they happen? According to science things work basically because they do, there is no REASON for us to be here, there is no REASON for the existance of the universe.

It would appear that you can pretty much do anything in life, and you'll get to 'heaven' by asking forgiveness. It would seem that the greatest evil man can do, is not to accept jesus.

Other faiths place great importance on helping others and aren't so fear-based.

I would like to know why ...when we are asked a question about where people will spend eternity...does not the scriptures tell us what will and what will not enter heaven...Ephesians 5 v 1-6.... Galatians 5 v16-21 ...this tell us plainly what will not inherit the kingdom of God...if we answer the questions as they are asked...we are not being judgemental...we are speaking truth.....I ask this with a humble spirit...Thank you

Just because we happen to believe in the Christian faith, does it mean that our religion is absolutly correct? Is there no possible other way and anybody of any other religion will burn in Hell? Thats some of the most ridiculous crap Ive ever heard, and I keep reading other so-called "Christians" answers and they insist that our religion is the one and only way and everyone else is absolutly wrong. I mean, there are hundreds of religions in the world, how can there only be one "right answer" Maybe everyone forgot to read the part in the Bible where it talks about tollerance.

I wasn't aware he was lost. And if I am lost because I haven't found Jesus then perhaps he needs to find me.Then he can tag me and he can go hide and then I will try to find him.

1) A person who helps others as a matter of course, gets involved with charity, lives what you would call a 'good muslim life' and is consciously not a muslim

2) A mulsim who attends church, prays when he should, acknowledges Allah, yet doesn't help those around him, gambles occasionally and drinks to excess once a week

3) A person who has led a life of crime and murder who on his death-bed asks Allah for forgiveness

4) A person who has no awareness of Islam, God, or any religion, but lives what you'd consider a 'good life'

I have had many discussions with atheists, who have strong convictions about their belief, but none have been able to explain to me how they systematically or academically arrived at their belief (or disbelief).

I would like to know, specifically, if their is an atheist out there that has come to their conclusions after thoroughly, diligently studying The Bible. None that I have met thus far have any more than just a superficial (if not warped) understanding of Judaism or Christianity. Most seem to have come to their conclusions on their own without actually studying in detail the theological issues involved.

I am not judging anyone, I just am interested in this topic.

"So it came in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground. Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering: but for Cain and his offering he had no regard."(Genesis 4:3-5)

I found the defintion of "arpent" to be "acre," but "acre" is hardly a topic for a novel. Please help!

I know that in Hoodoo brick dust is supposed to be poured at doorways to keep people out who intend to do you harm, but how exactly does it work?

Why arent the people who intend to do you harm allowed to cross it? And what happens to them if they do? And how do they know not to cross the threshold if they arent aware the the brick dust is there?

does anyone have any extensive info on this practice?
