Ok, it's a homework question. Would you be so kind to help me, anyway?

"Peggy is reading a 14th century French novel by an anonymous author dealing with ARPENT. What is the general topic of the book she is reading?"

I found the defintion of "arpent" to be "acre," but "acre" is hardly a topic for a novel. Please help!

Arpent is not an acre (it's more like 35 acres), but it is a unit of measure like acre. It can also be a unit of length. That's all it means. What the novel is about, I can't tell you. It's a very odd homework question; presumably the novel is about agriculture or surveying.

Never heard the word. Are you sure you're spelling it correctly?
