I know that in Hoodoo brick dust is supposed to be poured at doorways to keep people out who intend to do you harm, but how exactly does it work?
Why arent the people who intend to do you harm allowed to cross it? And what happens to them if they do? And how do they know not to cross the threshold if they arent aware the the brick dust is there?
does anyone have any extensive info on this practice?

Sorry kiddo, but brick dust isnt just in a movie. It's a real practice with real roots. I am writing a book about Marie Laveau. And i'm adding this element to it. But it's important that i know exactly WHY people meaning you harm are not allowed to cross the threshold if there is brick dust or graveyard dirt placed there. What happens to them if they do?
