Thought I missplaced my cell..apparently either left it at local store or he took it as I was standing there..QUESTION is..when he asked for ANY amount of money{unspecified} what would you have done????

friends told me to call police.. homeless man never asked for specific amount and alerted to exact location of where he was......

I would have called my service provider and canceled the phone. You do not have to cancel the service, just get a new phone (same number) and your problem is solved. You will only have one glitch, all of your phone numbers are in the old phone. You will have to resort to the good old home address book and re-input your phone numbers.
Once you do this the old phone will not work for calling out and eventually the battery will die so you private info (phone numbers) will no longer be retrievable by this man.

I like to give also, but the thing about this is that most homeless people will spend it on drugs and you can usually tell if that will be the case. I think this is unfortunate. I think you should pass by mcdonalds and buy him a lunch combo, and if you wanna give him a couple of dollars, it's your choice.

If you think he did it purposely: Even if he was homeless, if he took your phone why should he get money for it.
OR
He was just looking for a way to get money, maybe 2 dollars and get on with it, at least you got your phone back!

You give money to the homeless as if you are giving it to the Lord. What the homeless person does with the money is not for you to question. You can't help what the homeless man does. You can only help what you do. God tells us to help them.

I would of told him sure, where can we meet, and when i got there i would of beat the **** out of him for takin my phone. I have no sympathy for homeless ppl, they are homeless for a reason. Either drugs or wife beaters put out.

well depending on how upset i was about my phone I would have been like let me buy you something to eat or some clothes... that way they didn't go out and spend it on booze.. or I would have said... take it and I'll call the cops... but I think I'm pretty sure I would have gone with my first answer... bc I wouldn't of had my phone...

I would agree and then go get my phone. If he was acting sincere, maybe give him a $20. If he was being rude or acting shady, I'd tell him to go to hell after I got my phone, or kick his *** if he wouldn't give it up.
