Since nobody can prove to me that God doesn't exist (Catch 22,) I simply want everyone to experience the same peace and contentment that I feel.
I never try to forcibly convert anyone, I simply tell them my experiences, and then let them make up their own mind. However, that doesn't mean that I don't checking back with them to see if they are still okay.
I'm not neccessarily trying to improve anyone. But as with all humans, being good is sometimes not enough, there is always something else to strive for. I, myself, strive to be more compassionate and tolerant, just like Christ.
Let me try this: You are a football player and are as good as Dion Sanders. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to try to get you to be as good as Joe Namoth, or Emmit Smith.

The way the cosmos is set up with natural laws, the way man possesses a conscience, and the fact that spiritual awareness has existed as long as men have walked the earth, is pretty indicative that there is something beyond the physical out there. There is an abundance of evidence that the cosmos was designed by an intelligent being; the very existence of order is pretty convincing, since order can never proceed from chaos. There are many good books out there that outline the evidence in favor of God's existence. So much evidence exists, in fact, that the Bible declared that "the fool hath said in his heart there is no God..." (Psalm 14:1).
If there IS a God and He created everything, then it only follows that He would reveal Himself to His creation in someway. That means that SOMEONE is right and anything that contradicts what is right must therefore be false.
Many people propagate their faith as the true religion, but only one religion can be true, for each religion contradicts the others in significant ways. But which religion is right?
The only spiritual book with thousands of VERIFIABLE fulfilled prophesies is the Bible. In my mind, this is evidence that the Bible IS God's revealed Word to mankind and that Christianity IS the only true religion. If Christianity IS true, propagating our faith is an act of LOVE. Only those who don't accept the saving grace of Christ have reason to feel "pain, fear and suffering..."

"that God exists, then why are believers so keen on converting others!"
Because of the necessary (rather than arbitrary) consequences for not believing.
"there is absolutely no proof of any of it!"
Can only those things which can be proven possibly be true? Or is it possible that something might be true, yet can't be proven?
"it is very unsettling to me that you feel the need to instill pain, fear and suffering..."
I don't believe I am. On the contrary, I believe that belief is the only thing that can cure these ailments (eventually, if not instantly).
"to convert someone just on the basis of a big fat MAYBE that isn't right"
Let's consider the following possibilities for someone who believes:
1) the belief is correct and one attempts to convert others;
2) the belief is correct and one does not attempt to convert others;
3) the belief is wrong and one attempts to convert others; and,
4) the belief is wrong and one does not attempt to convert others.
All other things being equal, only in 1 and 4 does the response correspond with the truth of the belief. Therefore, one must presuppose that the belief is actually wrong in order to censure it.
"what are you trying to improve in another person, if they are a good person to begin with?"
One can be only relatively good, but God calls us to be something more: perfect. We can only obtain such a standing with His help.

I too thought I was a good person- people called me an "angel" when I was growing up. However, in the eyes of a Holy God, my goodness means nothing. I am not trying to improve someone, I am desiring that they know the God that I know. That is it plain and simple- I am no better than anyone else, just forgiven through Christ- and I do have a personal relationship with Him. If you choose to accept Christ or not, that is your choice. I am not here to convert you, only the Holy Spirit can save. I just want people to have a joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.

Becuase of people like you that say I (as a christian) install pain fear and suffering into others. I don't do that! But anyway, what motivates me is the feeling I get for believeing. And unless you understand what Im talking about, you will never know the answer. I don't have concrete proof, you already know that, so what more can I say? It's just a gut feeling that motivates me.

I look before I tell what I see.
AKA I try to find undeniable proof that I am correct before I tell people that I am definitely correct. I even ask others to come up with counterarguments to my ideas. Unfortunately, I'm not getting too far (when I ask, there's always people that criticize me for treating my theory like an attempt to explain the unknown (what's the difference?), come up with counterarguments that I can immediately say are not correct (and explain why; they never seem to notice this, and thus keep asserting the same idea relentlessly), and then there's this one person who wastes ten times as much time on his own, doing more than you probably care to read about). But, I keep trying.

I can't prove to you God exists and I won't even try. I know what He has done in my life and in my heart and that alone is proof for me. I studied immensly before coming back to Him, to know that Jesus is what He said He was. There are no doubts, I had the head knowledge and when I finally surrendered to Him, the heart knowledged finished it,
However, I could ask the same of you. Science has theories that are never constant and ever changing. It seems you also appear to have faith in theories. I guess we will just find out on the other side whose right?

If only they could validate and verify their outragous claims with a "scientific theory", which as they all must know by now, is very different from a guessing or estimating type of "theory"..
It's like the word "spirit". It can also mean alcohol, an emotion, a ghost, or the magic sky fairy..
So you see, a "scientific theory" is very different from a religious fruitcakes "theory"..

he exist weather you belive it or not. and there is proof its all around you. just bc you can not see it does not mean it does not exist. you see the change in people when they come to christ when they get saved just like when a leaf gets blown by the air does it not move? of corse it does. well just like a person who gets saved they get moved by the power of christ and bc of that they get a passion to tell others about their experiance and what they are feeling. They want to work for God bc of what god had done for them. that what motivates them its what God had done for them. They want to do the best they can for him. Just as you would for someone who saved your life wouldnt you at least want to thank him. YOU would not say I dont need you you are worthless. to a person that just saved you RIGHT? i would hope you would not say that.
im not trying to push anyting on you and neither is other christians. they just what to explain how they feel and how they know he does exist.

For many it might feel like theory, but I truely have a relationship with YHWH, who wants to be (and IS) my Father. I can't explain it. You've got to experience it yourself.
Because I HAVE this relationship and KNOW for myself how great life is with God on my side, I want to spread the news.
If you want to know more, you can mail me.
