My husband and I bought our house about 6 1/2 months ago and have been working on it ever since we moved in. We have been so busy these last few months we haven't had a chance to have a housewarming party. We would like to throw one and show off our home. Is it too late? Thanks!

These are good answers and they are meant to support you in your sincere decision.

If you want to invite friends over to see you new home/apartment, just invite them over! It isn't so necessary to call it a housewarming party, if a gift is inappropriate. If gifts are acceptable, then by all means invite them to your housewarming party!

When they arrive, you can mention that you wanted to decorate and prepare the home before inviting any guests, "that's why it took us so long".

You should be proud of your new place and welcome friends and family to the happy nest! Best of luck with everything!

i do no longer think of that's too late. many human beings could delay a housewarming celebration because of renovations, and so on, necessary in basic terms to make a house livable. you does no longer prefer to ask thirty human beings over to a house that had no working bathroom or spots in the floor that somebody could fall via! Have your place warming celebration, by utilizing all ability. yet PLEASE do no longer make the blunders of coming up ANY point out of presents or present registry on your invitation- that's an extremely cheesy habit that regrettably further and extra human beings seem to make. a house warming celebration is an threat to reveal your new domicile to pals and kinfolk; no longer a rewarding venture. Congrats on your new domicile!

Not too late. I think it's appropriate to have a party in your home after any major renovations, as well, and this situation seems to fit both. Telling guests not to bring gifts might be a nice gesture, however that depends on the people you choose to invite. My friends would bring gifts no matter what I said.

You're at the point that preceeds "too-late", but follows fashionably late. I'd say that you're reaching the end of opportunity for showcasing your new house with a party. Although...if you're stateside, then consider that 4th of July is approaching, and is always a great opportunity to have family and friends over for a barbeque/cookout.

It is always ok to have people over to your home. You don't have to call it a housewarming party, that might make people think you are fishing for gifts.

Nope. Have a "We finally got it all finished, Housewarming" or if you prefer, just have a party without the theme.

well, I don't think I would call it a housewarming party, as that implies gifts.

Why not have a cook-out?

Congratulations on your new home!!

No , it's not too late. It's understandable you need to take so many months to get it all together.

No, I don't think it's too late at all. I would put a message into the invitation about your six months of hard work and that now you are glad to welcome family and friends to your home.

congrats on the new place!!
