Yes! It wouldn't be a problem since I've never had a sense of smell (actually, a very poor one at best). I've never known how it feels to smell the things like other people smell so I don't know what I'm missing. Many people ask me about my sense of taste....but I have no idea how other people taste things so I don't know how to compare my sense of taste with theirs.
Most times, I see my loss of smell as an advantage. I don't mind doing smelly things that bother other people. I don't mind working next to co-workers who don't know what a shower is. One of the major disadvantages is that I can't smell smoke. My home caught on fire once and I didn't know until I actually saw the smoke.
I'm able to see what the power of suggestion can do. I've seen cedar trees 200 feet away and thought I smelled them from inside my car with the windows closed. Yesterday, I thought my hubby smelled like celery seeds (???) and if someone mentions oranges, sometimes I'll think that I can smell them. It's just one of my quirks, I guess.
If I was offered the chance to have a sense of smell if I paid $75,000, I'd turn it down. I've been this way for my whole life and see no reason to change now.

No, without a sense of smell you wouldn't be able to taste much, as the two are closely related. However, for $75,000 I'd be glad to give up YOUR sense of smell! J/k

In a heartbeat. My sense of smell is garbage anyway so I'd probably be getting the better end of that deal. Plus, student loans build up fast... really fast when you're at a private school.

Yes indeed. There have been times I've changed diapers and wished I didn't have a sense of smell anyway.

Yes, because then your other senses will get better, and you have 75,000 dollars.

Honestely, I think that could really have it's advantages, sometimes.
But to voluntarily give that up - hell no. I wouln't trade anything in this life for money.

That would be kinda stupid to do it.
Especially if you pay for it and your nose is all stuffy and you dont get a second smell.
