From my experience, if a question is asked that is over the heads of some, they are quick to regard the question as a sign of the asker's ignorance rather than their own. Does anyone else find this to be accurate?

Yes. And also if you explain it, they get offended as if you think you are smarter.

I know what you're talking about, but as the more intellectually inclined person, just laugh at the idiots that answer questions accusing the asker of being ignorant.. and move on. It's really kind of sad that they have nothing better to do. You really shouldn't let it bother you.

It's almost impossible to answer so general a question. Sure, it probably happens some times. Other times it is the asker who is ignorant of the facts. What do you expect?

"After-thought: You'd think Christian parents would teach Christian children not to call others "Idiot", wouldn't you? Don't they teach good manners in Christian households anymore?"

I do in mine so your statement is a bit of a fallacy isn't it? That doesn't mean my son isn't going to pick up bad behavior from other kids.

Absolutely accurate.

What is even more illuminating is when you get a number of answers, and some of them get it and some of them don't.

While those who don't whine about what an idiot you are, the ones who get it write out a thoughtful, thought-provoking answer and thank you for such a great question.

Yes. I've seen that.

If anything, I *over* clarify my questions, and I have a guy that regularly posts, after about 10 answers, that the question makes no sense.....

*Can't he look at the other answers and figure out from context?*

I don't. I've got enough self-awareness to realize that there are many people much smarter than myself.

I also believe that it's easy to spot those who attempt to present themselves as much more intelligent and 'deep' than what they truly are. You can smell a faux intellectual miles away.

I've seen a person call someone I like, that I regard as very smart, "someone that has the I.Q. of a turd"

It was funny, but it showcased the name caller's severe lack of intellect very well.

Yes, it is accurate. But be thankful that what is now called idiotic can't still get you excommunicated or killed.
