Don't rely on what others say. If you are curious, read the Bible yourself. Contrary to what some Christians have told you, there is no inconsistencies in the Bible. Unfortunately, some people like to speak on the Bible when they have not really studied it themselves. This makes all Christians look bad. Sometimes people take one part of the Bible out of context to make if fit their point which makes it disagree with another part. These people really don't understand the Bible or have taken time to really study it. And remember, just because something is a sin now, does not mean that it was always a sin. When Cain married his sister, it may not have been a sin at the time. Only later, when the human race became more populated, (the gene pool was more pure in Adams time so the problems of interbreeding was not an issue) did marrying your sibling become a sin. Then again, maybe God created more people after he created Adam and Eve. These are only a couple of possibilities that could have occurred, yet they are not inconsistent with any other part of the Bible. Just take the time to study it. I am not trying to convert you. You seem like an intelligent person; use that intelligence to study and read the Bible and other sources.

No they are not consistent and they do have books, such as the God Delusion, which they pray to and worship.
And YOU can't AVOID any of the pitfalls.
You came from a microbe that practised cell division, then you become a hermaphodiet (you had sex with yourself), then, depending on which theory, you were either on the land or in the water and mutated into something more complex.
Then, depending on theory, your SMART SAPIEN relatives mated with STUPID APE MEN (Sapiens and Neaderthals living together, making bablies, the Clan of the Cavebears).
That's you athiest legacy. Not really much different.
The ONLY differece is, you admit to being an ACCIDENT
You claim to be a product of SERENDIPITY
I have Paternity, that is my difference. I came from someone intentfully, willfully. I chose not to believe I am a cosmic abnomality.

Congratulations! You have now opened up your mind enough - to begin - to see what religions are, spiritual and psychological life rafts.
Some people need them. Some do not. When you begin to compare religions you will see they carry the same underlining theme:
-there is an almighty
-there are a set of rules handed down from the almightly
-there are sacrifices/hardships that you must endure to prove yourself worthy of heaven
-and theirs is the only right one
Regardless of the number of archeologist, historians or geologists prove that many of the parables in the Holy Bible have not actually occurred there are always several people on Y/A to say "everything has been 100% proven" (just take the "flood" for instance-geologists KNOW is wasn't global but a tour guide is claiming during tours that the "flood" caused the Grande Canyon, absolute nonsense).
Since general Christianity (there are many sects with considerable differences) is the easiest religion in N.A. to accept you will find alot of broken people (alcoholics, drug-addicts - and please I mean no disrespect for the hardships of others) clinging onto anything or who join AA become "born again" and preach it like an insurance salesman making commission (AA pushes Christ as the only answer to escape their guilt and be saved).
I am studying the Holy Bible right now, I have begun writing a list of conflictions that I have already come across, that many ignorant people somehow claim do not exist. And it fully stresses my faith (in a Christ not a creator). When I am done studying it in about 2 years I expect I will see Jesus as a very good man with divine influence, but a mortal man only.
I will tell anyone who is satisfied with their faith and happy with their ignorance-stick with the Sunday scripture, its cleaner and polished.
But anyone else, read "The Sins of Scripture" by retired Angl. Bishop John Shelby Spong - give him a Google or "The Pagan Christ" by Tom Harpur (it shows how the entire life of Jesus has occurred in Egypt thousands of years before Jesus was born and in many other religions long before Christianity even existed).
Just think for yourself.
Good luck

North Korea replaced into and is Buddhist China nevertheless practices Buddhist and Christian ideals. Russia started this is Christian ideals decrease back interior the 400s alongside with being Buddhist for hundreds of years before that.. Your good judgment purely covers 40 5 to 40 8 years interior the historical past of Russia. purely interior the U.S.. Buddhist temples are nevertheless prevalent in all the different communist international places of the east and Catholicism remains alive in South united statesa.'s communist international places. Your question has grow to be particularly rhetorical. Your concept in no god is positive. the incontrovertible fact which you're an Atheist is large. Your historic coaching is lacking.

I agree with you, although I became agnostic. Basically, though, I won't blame Christians, but the Bible itself. It is inherrently unbelieveable, quite literally.
However, none of this negated the possibility of a God, and since I do *feel* that there is one, and there is no evidence to the contrary, I contine to believe in God. I admit that there is no proof and that I could be wrong, but unless I'm proven wrong, which won't happen because you cannot prove a negative, I will contine to believe it. I know I could be wrong, but it's what I believe.
But do I think ANYONE has any more insight than I do? Absolutely not. A book is not proof of God. Certainly not one as flawed as the Bible!

To be honest, yes sometimes it's true that christians did hurt or made some fellows to turn to atheist but not right away.
Sometimes christians need to learn their lesson to accept everyone not just the one they really want to make friends with.
Don't be picky christians, i have seen them in 4 churches so far with this kind of behaviours!!
Christians are you still calling yourself christians now???

Is Atheism consistent? How?
1)They deny God based on science. Science deals with tangible things, experiments that can be duplicated and results that can be mesured. God dosen't fit any of these categories and therefore can't be proved or disproved by science. Denying God based on science its like being inside a moving bus trying to mesure the bus's speed with a thermometer and than reaching the conclusion that the bus is not moving because there's no alteration in the thermometer
2)Since there is no scientific way to say if God exists or no all atheists have left is faith. their faith is blind and, unlike the faith in any religion I know of, it does not have a rational basis. If you ask an informed christian about it, he'll tell you that there is a lot of historical evidence (inside and outside the bible) that Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and so on. The same way, if you ask a buddist about it he'll give you some valid arguments about Buddha and the things in which he believes.
Still, if you ask an atheist the reason for their beliefs he'll give you no rational valid explanation for this, he'll give you the "science explains everything" argument and we saw on (1) that that is just not true. Science does not attempt to explain everything, it concentrates on the tangible mesurable stuff. If you deny there is more than the tangible and mesurable, than you're on your on, science is not backing you up, it can't.
I know. A lot of Christians, me included, in the eagerness to defend our faith have made a mess in trying to explain the Bible, and therefore our beliefs, properly. There are a lot of good questions here on Y!A and a lot of though ones. Still, i advice you to look for your awnsers about faith somewhere other than the internet. If you're really interested i think it'll be good for you independent of the path you'll eventually follow after your search.
i'm not a theologist and i've never read the whole OT, still im a biologist and i can tell you: Atheism is not consistent, not even a little consistent.

I see...judge the message by the messenger, right?
Try reading it for yourself. Dig into it, and take your time.
Get a Bible version you will easily understand and go for it.
What you need to know is that all of us- everyone of us- are at different levels of our walk, in our learning. Some speak of things that are easy to understand as that's all they know yet. Others dig deeper, and unless you know some things, you won't get what they say.
At least take the time to really read and understand.

If you can make your spelling, grammar and english language usage & its meaning understandable then...
- you can convince us that you are reading any valuable messages we Christians are putting across to everybody`s mind, heart & spirit ("that God created you for some special reason & purpose for your own & families happiness")...
-that you are reflecting well on God`s word ("that Jesus sacrifice & died for your sins, to save & bring you back in union with the Almighty Creator for eternal happiness")...
-that being faithful & loyal to Him/God, make you safer from charismatic evil spirit that is luring you to be lost forever from God`s umbrella & blessings...
-that being analytical & having God`s wisdom makes you smart/wise in all aspects of life and cannot just be driven out and away from God by anybody`s wrongful/disrespectful/destructive comments...to...becoming a lost soul, treacherous creation of God, and to be doomed to eternal fire in hell.
With your writings now...I can see you never knew a thing in the Bible... "The Holy Book"... and will never understand anything from it from your scarce english usage even if you will read it yourself.
The Bible is very magical. It is a story of God and the history of His creations (everything you set your eyes with, including the universe, galaxies, human/plants/animal species). God knew everyone`s intentions whoever wants to read it and consider his reader with some kind of private relationships with Him/God.
If you seek knowledge about God...you should pray to God for clarity & understanding of the Holy Book...and it will be given to you.
If you just want intriques, challenges of the truthful God`s idealism, want to destroy God`s faithfuls & believers, or just want to contradict what already existed...then no knowledge & understanding will be given to you...and your life will turn out to be just "nothing", "no meaning", "no reason of existence", "no purpose", "no hope", "no dreams", "no future to expect".
Whatever way you wanted?... take your pick !...
"goodbye"...and... "be blessed"

"sometimes it's this part is but this part isn't."
The whole Bible is true. If you mean parts of the Bible are not literal or parts of the Bible are no longer applicable, what's the problem with that?
"Or thats what NOT to do but live by the word of God."
Don't understand what you mean here.
"Eve came from Adams rib"
So?
"Cain married his sister but thats OK."
Who else could he have married?
"The OT is not right read the NT, then you'll quote from the OT"
Umm, the O.T. is "right", but most of the specific rules that God gave to Israel are no longer applicable, Christ's sacrifice made them no longer necessary.
"The Atheist don't even have a book and they are all consistent."
Consistent in what? It's easy to to be consistent when you don't have anything. ;) :D
