Ok first of all, I am athiest so I dont need athiests flooding the wall with "there is no hell." One can seek understanding without believing.

From what I understand, Islam's perception of hell is torturous not because God is punishing them but because the sinner brought the torture upon themselves. What are other religion's take on this or if you want to correct or elaborate on my understanding. Thanks.

Even though the people who wrote the bible had no knowledge of the world or science, what God is the right God to worship? I really don't care about your opinion and have a special place in my frontal lobe to murder these oppressing, bothersome, and irritating idiots- especially mormons. The funny part is I am not a non-believer. I am sick and tired of people sitting at home asking God for money, material items, or emotional support when they need to get off their behinds and do something to better themselves. What gives these people the right to dictate anything when all they do is cry about handouts all of the time?

Why are some people so set in particular direction?

Are these the same people who burned people alive for being heretics?

I just don't get it. I grew up with the bible in my hand, and sunday school, and all of that stuff.
I KNOW WHAT I'M MISSING!

I'm an intelligent individual who can make up his own mind about what to believe, BASED ON FACTS.

But some people, want to just spout out hear-say instead of sticking to the facts....
What makes them so BLINDED?

We ex-Christians reject the bible for many reasons. For many of us the main reason is that we have read it and found the murder, torture, slavery, rape, etc to be disagreeable to us. We don't listen to Christian preaching because we would not want to worship a deity, or any being, who ordered these acts committed, if this deity existed. We do not believe this deity exists because these acts are atrocities against humanity.

Mary: According to the Quran (Surah 19:28, 3:33-36), Mary, the mother of Jesus, was the daughter of Imran or Amram, the father of Moses and Aaron. Mary is also said to be the sister of Moses and Aaron. Clearly Muhammad confused Mary with Miriam.
A second interesting point about Mary is the story of the date palm speaking and offering its fruit to her (Surah 19:23). This legend is easily traced to similar legends found in the apocryphal "Protoevangelium of James" the "Pseudo-Matthew" and "the Gospel of the Nativity of Mary" all of which have been dated to the fourth to sixth centuries, and were again believed by the sects found in Arabia. (More indepth information on Quranic sources may be found in Rev. W. St. Clair Tisdall's The Religion of the Crescent).

I am Roman Catholic. Through Biblical studies I've learned that Jesus' death redeemed us. He is our Redeemer. He can become our Saviour if we have pure faith & have done good works for our neighbors & enemies. We are to follow in Christ's footsteps, taking care of the poor, feeding the starving, housing the homeless, clothing the poor, etc.

I see so many Christians (I presume many are Protestants here) say that they are saved because they believe in Christ & they will go to Heaven. Not one single person can say 100% that they know they will go straight to Heaven upon their death. Faith alone doesn't save you. If faith alone saved you, your faith would be so great that you would be sinnless and perfect. God states that no one is perfect.

Why do many Christians say that they are already saved? Why do you read some verses & ignore the rest? Aren't you suppose to read the entire Book & not ommit any words? God said not to add & not to ommit of His words.

Acording to the Ancient Vedas, there is a hell, but no one can go there eternally. It is just a place to get ones very bad karma and they take birth again on the earth planet again when their time is up. One must understand karma, reincarnation, and no one goes to hell eternally to understand the unlimited mercy and love of God. Even Jesus taught these things, but Evil King Constantine took them out for his own idea, to controll the citizens. Fact. write me for the site to prove it.

Pagans? Wiccans. Do you believe that your deity was created in the image of yourselves as I believe God was created in the image of man as to put a human face of a higher power.
Look at the ancients. The Greeks, Romans. They use human forms and emotions identify with their Gods. God of War, God of Love, God of etc...

One of the questions in the last 24 hours was a Frequently Asked Question here. The question was (rephrased) "Isn't Evolution only a theory, not a fact?" This question has been answered here many times, but theists who believe Evolution contradicts the Bible continue to ask the question and not accept the answer. I don't really expect this to change. I answer the question even though it's like trying to bail out the ocean.

But the reason I am asking this question is that one answerer answered the question with this statement:
"I think evolution is just the best alternative to God at the moment .. they're always playing with it trying to find new ways to make it believable coz new holes pop up in every new issue of scientific american ..."

I won't say who said this or point to the original question. My point is not to shame the individual who said it, since the problem seems to be common among creationists.

(to be continued)

he was given plenty of opportunity to know about christianity and Jesus, (educated in England) and yet he kept his Hindu faith (in fact reaquainted himself with his Hinduism after his sojurn in England) He was a good person( helped to free his people through non-violence) so where does he go, if the bible tells the truth? He did not accept Jesus as his lord and savior, he did not even recognize the judeo-christian god as "God" (though he respected and even honored the beliefs of those who did) so i guess this man is condemmned to hell
