Now, the Star-Belly Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars.

Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small
You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all.

But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches
Would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.”
With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort
“We’ll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly sort!”
And, whenever they met some, when they were out walking,
They’d hike right on past them without even talking.

Most of the Christians didn't mention true or false. They just ranted.

Here's the question and their answers

some christians believe that they really eat the flesh and drink the blood of christ.
So, if one day the priest hands you a bloody hunk of flesh, you wouldn't really eat it, would you?
Even if it could be verified that some miracle had sent it to just you and your church, you wouldn't really eat it...right?
That is so nasty.

Take a piece of white cloth with frayed edges and place it like a table cloth on a small table or bookshelf. Place nine small glasses in a circle on the table. One is usually larger than the others, and can be put in the middle. In this middle glass, always keep fresh water as an offering of energy to your ancestors. In this glass also put a religious symbol of significance to your ancestors - for example if they were Christian, a cross. You can of course include more than one symbol for more than one religion. Remember, it doesn't matter if your not of their religion, you're doing this for them, honoring their choices by displaying their chosen symbols. Fill the other glasses with fresh water as well. It's nice if you have photographs of departed family members to put those on the altar as well. Offer your ancestors a small portion of every meal you eat. Sometimes it's nice to make a meal especially for them, something you know they loved in life.

Do you ever feel like the middle children of the religious debate? Fundamentalist Christians accuse us of not spreading the word diligently enough, non-Christians still view us as the enemy for supposedly thinking they'll be damned to hell, and atheists still think we're stupid and delusional because we believe in God.

Do you ever feel this way? Do you ever feel this way within your own church?

No, it has nothing at all to do with the power of your Jesus.

It does, however, have everything to do with the fact that you people have a documented history of invading foreign lands and practicing genocide on the indigenous peoples.

The first thing you do is go in and level any religious shrines the natives had, erect a huge stone Catholic church on the site, and it is "Convert or die".

Then the more peaceful ones of you come along, following at a safe distance of course, and say, "Jesus loves you! Come on down to the church, and we'll show you what we're all about!".

Then, you go about the countryside killing any dissenters.

You have done this all across Europe, South America, Central America, North America, and every other place you have "saved" from evil.

Nothing like a little murder and mayhem to get people to accept a "loving god".

I have seen tricks and magic shows... I have been to Vegas a few times and nothing in this WORLD is like the experience of this man. I know other people have levitated and escaped from death traps but.... this seems different. He would have to be the Christ to pull this stuff off for real with no smoke and mirrors. Maybe I am looking for something that is not there however the possibility is no different than 2000 years ago when he was here the first time. Most of the world never believed until he was dead. Doesn't mean it can't happen again, does it? It sounds outragous but the Jews thought the same thing. I wish he would tell people if it's really just an act.

Why do people assume I haven't read it? I've read the Bible. I took notes. I was unimpressed. I quote it all the time to Christians that quote it to me. If I quote the Bible supporting abortion, why would you assume I've never read the Bible?

Many times I have seen an answer on this board worded somewhat like this: "Because God loves us so he gave us free will. People are given their whole lives to decide if they want to be with God in heaven or if they would rather not be with God." Personally I don't agree with God as he is traditionally accepted by the major religions (i.e. Christianity, Muslim, etc.) and so would rather not be with this God in heaven. Therefore according to the above statement I would then go where God is not (Hell). Naturally those who do not wish to be with God (or do not believe in hime as the case may be) would go elsewhere just as those who do not like a particular resaurant would go elsewhere as well. What I'd like to know is why do you think this "elsewhere" must be a place of eternal torment? I can understand being sent somewhere else for not believing or agreeing but I don't understand why it has to be a place of eternal torment instead of it just being another place.
