I think that it is wrong to feel that way but I must admit i have had the same thought before. I don't wish to judge anyone or hurt anyone. I am addicted to food ! I love it! But at the same time I have to ask myself do I want to be healthy or overweight? I struggle everyday to maintain the weight I am now. It took alot of hard work and motivation to get to the weight that I am today. Nothing is easy in life . You have to work at everything you do.That includes being at a healthy weight. So when I look at an overweight person I don't really think there lazy . Just not motivated . You have to want it bad enough. Some people just don't really care. Just my opinion

It is wrong, there are a lot of kinds of "fat people" and a lot of reasons that it happens. Many people can work hard physically and still be pudgy. It has to do with money, stress, access to fresh fruits and veggies, water retention, etc. A recent study found that most obese people in America are unable to afford fresh fruits and veggies and so their diet consists of foods like pasta, hot dogs and other fatty and cheap foods. The average cost of a meatloaf made of higher fat beef to feed a family of 4 in the Midwest is about $4 (including mashed potatoes from a box). The average cost for a salad to feed the same family is $9. Over twice the cost! The meatloaf and mashed potatoe flakes are a lot less healthy and have a lot more fat and calories. The truth is, obesity is a disease in a lot of ways.

I have to disagree.
Many people have a thyroid gland problem, some women have a condition called PCOS which makes them gain a lot of weight.
I used to be very overweight due to the latter condition and lost 55 lbs myself, it was no walk in the park.
I constantly have to watch what I eat, the slightest treat would make me put on again.
I think the word "fat" is awful as well. I hate how society looks at overweight people, it is easy for people with a healthy metabolism to point fingers. I agree that most people are overweight because of their lifestyles but laughing at them wont help either.

no.. it is not always due to laziness and overeating.. i know i have some i would love to lose, the job i had for the past four years was in a warehouse, where i walked about 9 miles a day, the company had people follow us around to see what our routine was to try simplify it, make it quicker for us .. was walking 8-10 hrs per day, up and down 15 foot ladders, lifting very heavy parts, sheet metal, copper etc. i worked m'@$$ off.. but thing is, i've also had two kids that alone takes a huge toll on ur body.. i do not eat properly, skip alot of meals, am always busy with caring for my kids, makin sure they eat healthy.. no junk in our house , but stress is a huge factor.. it has knocked the heck out of my immune system and has been sooooo hard to try and get my body back to normal.. so no, absolutely not!! does it always have to do with being lazy.. my kids are just 9 and 3.. they keep me runnin..

no. i used to be 120 and i went to rehab for a drug problem now i weigh 160. im fat because i am lazy. i knew i was getting heavier but i thought it wasnt that bad. i have started a diet and i work out. but yeah, maybe its not that im so lazy, i deliver pizzas which takes a lot of walking and climbing stairs, i just feel like thats my workout and i am unmotivated to do anything else. most really big people have no idea they eat so much. if they made a list their jaws would probably drop.

Yes, it is wrong. I know many fat people who are very diligent and active. But I personally think that they should reduce their weight to avoid complications cause by it.
I must say that I feel "a little bit" annoyed when sitting beside a very fat people in the plane. They took up my space! Solution is they should travel business, more space!

Yes it's not nice. I work very hard at staying healthy and active. Some can be due to mental illness where the individual is inactive due to depression so it isn't always just being lazy. It could be due to the type of medication that individual could be on causing weight gain. It could be water gain. It could be pregancy it could just be a lot of things so don't be so judgemental.

No. I think the only exception would be if they have any sort of health problem. (Which I'm sure is common.)
I'm just the opposite. I'm trying to gain weight. With knowledge and dedication, I gain weight. When I become lazy, I lose the weight again.

is it wrong to think fat people are just lazy..?
Some are; some aren't! Being fat is difficult for those folks. I would not use the pejorative term "lazy" with this situation.
