Now, the Star-Belly Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars.

Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small
You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all.

But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches
Would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.”
With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort
“We’ll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly sort!”
And, whenever they met some, when they were out walking,
They’d hike right on past them without even talking.

HAHAHA

I love the sneetches, good analogy.

Bravo! Applause! Yes, yes, yes. This is exactly the point...it's some sort of conundrum where people can't get past the fact that other people have different thoughts and beliefs. Religion can turn into an ego fest. Healthy minded people do not become embroiled in conflict. Anything worthwhile to the spirit would not include promotion...it should speak for itself and people will naturally become attracted to it. Arguing is a cycle of negativity, definitely not a good sign of someone who is spiritually sound.

Hmmm...interesting comparison. Now who are the Star-Bellied Sneetches and who are the Plain-Belly ones?

Well, the Sneetches on R&S would rather argue than walk by with their snoots in the air, but other than that, a good analogy.

I've never read The Sneetches, but what I hope is that they learn to share their stars because - like love - the more you give away, the more you have.

Dr. Seuss...is just plain awesome. My kids will definitely read his books.

And yeah R&S is just like the sneetches.

It's just you. Why, this board always reminds me of some of my favorite Bible verses:

"Refuse to get involved in inane discussions; they always end up in fights." 2Timothy 2:23

"Fools have short fuses and explode all too quickly; the prudent quietly shrug off insults." Proverbs 12:18

A gentle answer quiets anger, but harsh words stir it up." Proverbs 15:1

Nah, it's more like that story with of Bartholomew Cubbins, who had the 500 identical hats. You know, all of these identical looking things cluttering up the place.

Only if you have a few types of Star-Belly Sneeches.

LOL

I enjoyed the comparison. Wow, I must have missed that book, when I was raising my daughter.

Wish I hadn't.
