if you told me both, then you are breaking the first commandment:
"You shall not take other gods before Me"

Matthew 19:17
.... Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

John 8:42
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

"My God! my God! why haven't you forsaken me!?"

Mark 12:29
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

I saw some obviously bitter lady that had some bad things to say about a guy named Kedar, so I looked at all his questions & answers & I think he's very intelligent as well as sincere. Is it just jealousy that makes some people so angry with others? What else could it be?

If you follow the New Testament, it clearly shows that God no longer considered the Israelites to be his choosen people and that "the Holy Land" ceased being a physical place, but was a reference to his heavenly kingdom.
He allowed Jerusalem to being destroyed as punishment for the rejection of Jesus and allow all nationalities to worship him. Jerusalem and Israel lost all religious signifigance.
So why do so many Christians speak of Israel as the Holy Land and Jerusalem as God's Holy City? If Israel IS the Holy Land then the Jews are still God's Holy People, which doesn't fit it to well with the New Testament.
I am CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!! Please explain!

By the way...no offence to Jews!!! I am not trying to be rude at all, I am just confused by all this. Its contradictory.

Just had a thought....99% of the Christians I have heard saying they pray for Israel to be restored are pro-Bush. Is that the reason they say this?

I was wondering if wrote these sentences correctly. Grammar, spelling, verb usage, ect.

I have also been learning about the subjunctive and I was wondering if there is any way to form these sentences (still making the same point) using the subjunctive? Only if the use of the subjunctive is applicable… I'm still learning so I'm not quite sure when it's appropriate to use it.

1. Deseo ser una médica porque médicos ayudan a personas.
2. Trabajaba en un restuaurant por dos años como una camarera.
3. Cuándo yo tenía diez años, yo deseé ser una actriz porque me gustaba mirar películas.

Thanks a lot!

Praying for the lost. Jesus loves you

God created man and yet He gives us so many problems. He meant life to be a beautiful thing for man but what does a man do in his life?
When he is small slog in school. Then college slog in college. Then work slog at work. The only time we don't have anything to do is when we are old but that is not the right age to hop skip and jump.
He wanted mankind to be a cool thing but nowadays I find no one appreciating life. Everyone talks about death and ending life and suicides. And the number of murders and crimes have gone up. Why is it so when God meant Earth to be a beautiful place to live in? Why can't we enjoy our stay on Earth then go back as peacefully?

Love is Jesus Christ! He died on the cross for our sins so we may be forgiven. He rose from the crave the third day and our Lord lives! Amen. Jesus loves you!

As it was recently explained to me by a very persuasive christian man that the extreme desire that is so apparent to save homosexuals of their horrid sin is because it is in their best interest and in the end they are just looking out for those who are same sex oriented.

I guess my question is, (as a heterosexual 15 year old girl) at what point will you just realize that people are born a certain way, and let them live their own lives. FOR REAL imagine someone trying to therapeutically convert you of your sexuality.
My point is, sometimes its more helpful for you to not care so much.

I have a q?
Did Jesus go around saying to ppl. - "You're going to hell" or did he try and save them and accept them as they are? Or is it just me and thinking this way? And my Christian upbringing?
Can a man corrupt-misinterpert the God's word?

Isn't Christianity about love and healing and praying and not hurting? And turning the other cheek?

So, why do (some) Christians try to mentally undermine anyone else's choice of ANY belief? Or even atheists? But I guess it got allot better than many ages ago when the Church has actually tormented ppl. and burned them? hmmmm.

Anyone care to answer?

Not trying to offend, just to get answers.....

So this guy on here keeps claiming that all atheists share a rule set and beliefs. I keep telling him that we only share one value and that is the lack of any evidence of any of the billion proposed gods. Can anyone name any other belief that our whole group shares?

A friend of mine told me that when they are deeply concentrating on some one or things, people hear their voice/them talking from pretty far away, and think they are right there. Tonight, they were concentrating on their pet, and their child swore they saw it walking nearby at that precise moment- but it was not really there. This has gone on for years, and I just want someone has a name for this. There's no denying something is there. They said they are even
starting to believe they can even make people call just by thinking about them in their mind really hard. Is this a satanic thing that should be rebuked? Are they blessed or
demon posessed or WHAT IS GOING ON?
