I have a q?
Did Jesus go around saying to ppl. - "You're going to hell" or did he try and save them and accept them as they are? Or is it just me and thinking this way? And my Christian upbringing?
Can a man corrupt-misinterpert the God's word?
Isn't Christianity about love and healing and praying and not hurting? And turning the other cheek?
So, why do (some) Christians try to mentally undermine anyone else's choice of ANY belief? Or even atheists? But I guess it got allot better than many ages ago when the Church has actually tormented ppl. and burned them? hmmmm.
Anyone care to answer?
Not trying to offend, just to get answers.....

And don't get me wrong but - I know when this was done he would have been accepted as a Savior but the q. remains - did he ever say to anyone who had refused to follow him - Then you will go to Hell?
I mean what kind of sick mockery can a man make out of a Religion of love?

Um- sorry to dissapoint anyone who has assumed that I have remained a Christian today - I go under the lot some of (Christians?) usually condemn to Satan today - I'm a Polytheist.. or a 'heathen' - non follower of Christian Church..
But as my family has mostly comprised of Christians I have been taught that one needs to respect and love others not to hate.. maybe they've failed to find the Bible verses which speak of wrath... hmmm
I wll look up those verses though - trying to figure out where the hatered today comes from....

You are right in saying that Jesus is about love and healing, and forgiveness. When He spoke about Hell, it was simply to turn people away from their hate and narrow judgments. He said a whole lot more about the Kingdom of Heaven which is very close to us if we only reach out for it and take hold of and share its promises.
There are many who corrupt and misinterpret God's Word. Look into your heart, find those words which tend toward and support LIFE. Too many have accepted Hell when God wants them in Heaven.
There is one story from the Gospels I like to call the wandering pericope, it is found either in Luke or John or neither. It is the story of the woman taken in adultery, John 7:53-8:11 (one place). Although most ancient manuscripts don't include it a couple of the best do. It's too good a story not to have been from Jesus, and this is attested by the places it's included even if its language doesn't fit what's around it. Jesus is questioned about the Law which demands that the adulterous woman be stoned (There are some Christians who want the story thrown out so we're not condoning adultery). He stoops and writes something in the dust, and then says, "Let him that is without sin, cast the first stone." Then he goes on writing in the dust, and they all begin to slip away, beginning with the eldest. Jesus, left alone with the woman asks, 'Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?" "No, Lord," she said. Jesus said, "Neither do I, go and sin no more." I wish I knew what he wrote, I'd have it written on every altar step and church door.

First of all, you have to have the correct translation of hell. The words sheol, hades, and Gehenna are also used in the Bible to represent hell. They translate into "unseen" (sheol) to "the pit" (hades), or to the grave. And Gehenna was actually a "bad valley" in Jeruselam. Jesus taught love. God is our Father. He loves us. If your child, let's say, threw a rock and broke a window, even on purpose, would you go out in your backyard, dig a pit, start a fire, and throw him in it? Of course not! And God doesn't do that to us either. If you research and study Lucifer/Satan, you will find that this was a myth started to frighten villagers into believeing the king's religion. Do your research. Search the original scrolls for scriptures. King James was a pedophile and religion was mostly political to him. He hired translators who couldn't even speak the languages on the scrolls and told them to translate them the best they could, and there you have the KJV of the Bible. That;s why there are so many contradictions in the Bible, fallacies, etc. Because the original words are nowhere near what we have today. When you conitnually translate and translate, it's like the telephone game. Alot is lost in the translation at the end. Pray and ask God to guide you, and do your research!

"Did Jesus go around saying to ppl. - "You're going to hell" or did he try and save them and accept them as they are?"
Well,He was very concerned about the lost.He wanted to save them.
"Isn't Christianity about love and healing and praying and not hurting? And turning the other cheek?"
Yes.
"So, why do (some) Christians try to mentally undermine anyone else's choice of ANY belief? Or even atheists? "
I believe other religions are wrong.I will say that.I see no conflict between that and praying, loving, and turning the other cheek.

Jesus spoke of “Hell Fire” in the same breathe as “Judgment”.
Read Matthew Chapter 5
In my opinion as a Christian, I believe that “Hell” is “Judgment”.
Matthew 5:3 - reads as the words that Jesus spoke,
"Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven".
For me, my Christianity is about accepting all. There are some individuals who claim to be "Christan's" that do not follow the path of love and acceptance that Jesus walked.
People interpret the Gospel in their own perception of what they believe is right and then there are others that interpret the same passage as completely different.
There is no unison in the teachings of today from the stories of years since past.
Peace & Love,
Sam

NO. The message of Jesus was a message of Truth and Salvation.
Jesus spoke that the fulfillment of the plan of God towards man's salvation was at hand and those who would accept and follow Him would be saved.
Jesus also spoke of love and mercy. He spoke that God forgives those who sinned and willing to accpet back God in their lives.

Jesus accepted people as they were , but if they wanted eternal life, they were to take up their cross and follow Him. That would involve becoming a new creature in Christ Jesus as the bible says, not staying in sin.

Jesus did not tell people they were going to hell.
He accepted them, and made Himself approachable by them.
Those that came to Him in faith, He healed.
Others, He pinpointed their idols, and told them to sin no more (repent).
He knew the heart of every individual who spoke with Him, and He was upfront and truthful with them. Additionally, He had no problem condemning the Pharisees: He called them whitewashed graves and stated their father was the Devil.

Jesus is facet of the Godhead, god the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus has the precise potential to be flesh and blood, so He would die at the pass. Since He went again to heaven, He cant die once more.

Here are a couple of things Jesus said in the sermon on the mount:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:21-23)
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew: 7:13-14)
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (Matthew: 7:19)
